A device that is used to poke holes into the skin with a needle [or group of needles] and pound special inks under the top layers of the skin to create a permanent design. 4, record 1, English, - tattoo%20machine
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The tattoo machine is basically the very same since it was first designed. Coils send an electric current through the machine, causing the needles to move in an up-and-down motion at a very fast pace. This electric current is regulated by a power supply, and the machine is then turned on and off through the use of a foot pedal. 5, record 1, English, - tattoo%20machine

3, record 1, French, - dermographe
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
4, record 1, French, - dermographe

The automatic jigging machine lets the hook sink down to a specified depth and then starts jigging with an adjustable range of up-and-down motion and at a pre-determined speed. When the weight is increased by a caught fish, and the pre-set weight is reached, jigging is discontinued and the catch is hauled up automatically; the hauling function stops when fish and hook are on the surface and the fish can be unhooked. Normally one person operates two machines... An adjustable electromagnetic clutch makes it possible to play large fish such as halibut automatically … 4, record 2, English, - automatic%20jigging%20machine

The percussion method of drilling, whereby a heavy bit makes hole by a pounding action. 10, record 8, English, - cable%2Dtool%20drilling
Record number: 8, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Cable-tool drilling consists in pulverizing the rock formation a little at a time by alternately raising and dropping a heavy cutting tool called a bit, thereby driving a hole into the earth. Water must be present in the bottom of the hole to keep the rock fragments in suspension, and from time to time the excess water and rock particles must be bailed out. 4, record 8, English, - cable%2Dtool%20drilling

Early wells were drilled with impact-type tools, in a method called cable-tool drilling, in which a chisel-like bit was suspended from a cable to a lever at the surface, and an up-and-down motion of the lever caused the bit to pound the bottom of the hole and chip away the rock. Such drilling had to be interrupted periodically to allow loose rock chips to be removed with a basket-like device. 5, record 8, English, - cable%2Dtool%20drilling

7, record 8, French, - forage%20au%20battage

Record number: 9, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Control-line model airplanes are flown in a circle, attached to a handle by a set of lines. The pilot can control the flight of the model by manipulating the handle. Flying model airplanes on lines has a long and illustrious history. The earliest attempts at "control-line" used one line attached to a long pole. The pilot would cause the airplane to climb or dive by "leading" it with the pole. The person usually credited with inventing the now widely used two line system is Jim Walker, who came up with the idea sometime in the 30s or 40s. The two line system (often referred to a "U-Control", and used on perhaps 99% of control line models) uses a triangular bellcrank to transfer the movement of the wires to the pushrod, connected to the elevator and/or flap control horns. Some Speed flyers use "monoline", which is a system that utilizes line twisting for control. 5, record 9, English, - control%2Dline%20model%20airplane
