Neurobehavioral disorder associated with prenatal alcohol exposure(ND-PAE) is a new clarifying term intended to encompass the full range of developmental disabilities associated with exposure to alcohol in utero. The current diagnostic guidelines allow ND-PAE to be diagnosed both in the absence and in the presence of the physical effects of prenatal alcohol exposure(e. g., facial dysmorphology required for a diagnosis of fetal alcohol syndrome). 1, record 1, English, - neurobehavioral%20disorder%20associated%20with%20prenatal%20alcohol%20exposure

It is likely that animal research will lay the necessary foundation and open up ways to study genetic events occurring in human embryos made from gametes donated by parents at increased risk for transmitting such genetic diseases to their offspring. Experiments comparing mechanisms in the abnormal embryo with those in the normal embryo may yield knowledge that will lead to treatments, including in utero gene therapy. 5, record 16, French, - virus%20de%20la%20leuc%C3%A9mie%20murine%20de%20Moloney

Prenatal hydrocephalus describes hydrocephalus that is diagnosed in utero(before birth). It can be detected in a fetus as early as the latter part of the first trimester of pregnancy. Around 20 to 24 weeks of gestation, abnormal dilation of the fetus's ventricles is more clearly detectable. Prenatal ultrasound, performed by a radiologist or perinatologist skilled in obstetric ultrasound, is highly reliable and accurate. It will establish that there is an abnormal obstruction. 4, record 18, English, - prenatal%20hydrocephalus
