Gender needs. The roles of men and women in existing societies and institutions are generally different. Thus, their needs vary accordingly. Two types of needs are usually identified practical needs and strategic needs. Practical needs arise from the actual conditions which women and men experience because of the gender roles assigned to them in society. Strategic needs are the needs required to overcome the subordinate position of women to men in society, and relate to the empowerment of women. They vary according to the particular social, economic, and political context in which they are formulated. 2, record 9, English, - gender%20need

Because some bull customers want horns on their cattle, there are ways to manage horns to avoid problems. The oldest method is to use horn weights to train the horns to curve downward. Weights vary depending on the size of the animal and the horn and are placed on the ends of the horn and tightened with screws. A locking mechanism on the inside holds the weights firmly in place. Once the horn's growth is altered in the direction desired, the weights can be removed and the horns will resume normal growth. 2, record 67, English, - horn%20weight

... feed efficiency has been considered as one of the important parameters in assessing the potential of bird strain or feeding program, etc. In [North] America the value is calculated by dividing feed intake by weight gain, and so values of around 1. 9 are common for 42 [day] old birds. In some European countries, the efficiency is calculated as weight gain divided by feed intake, and a corresponding value would be 0. 53. Whatever system is used, measures of feed efficiency are useful in describing feed intake in relation to growth rate. Feed efficiency is, therefore, a useful measure of performance as long as all other factors affecting both growth and feed intake are either minor or do not vary from flock to flock. 2, record 68, English, - feed%20efficiency

1, record 68, French, - indice%20de%20consommation

One of the important aspects determining nutrient requirements is feed intake. If an animal is consuming more total feed per day than normal, the level of nutrients, per unit weight, can be reduced. If the animal is consuming less feed than would normally be the case, then to satisfy the requirements, the nutrient density should be increased. Since the dietary intake is related in many cases to energy content, the nutrient content of the diet will vary depending on energy level. 4, record 76, English, - feed%20intake

In a communication system, the end-to-end delay of a packet may be defined as the time from its generation at the source to when the packet reaches its destination. In a packet-switched communication system, the delay for packets to travel from source to destination may vary depending upon various operating conditions, including but not limited to, channel conditions and network loading. Channel conditions refer to the quality of the wireless link. Some factors determining the quality of the wireless link are signal strength, speed of a mobile and/or physical obstructions. The end-to-end delay includes the delays introduced in the network and the various elements through which the packet passes. Many factors contribute to end-to-end delay. Variance in the end-to-end delay is referred to as jitter. 3, record 93, English, - end%2Dto%2Dend%20delay
