The population status of Walleye of Tathlina Lake appears to have improved between 2001 and 2007. The mean size(length and weight) of Walleye and age of Walleye has increased, while the increase in catch-per-unit effort of and proportion of Walleye in the total catch suggests an increase in Walleye biomass in the lake. The presence of the strong 1997 year class that reached sexual maturity in 2003 was left to spawn multiple times without considerable harvest has likely helped improve the status of the population. 3, record 3, English, - population%20status

A study was conducted examining the rates of development of components of the reproductive tract during sexual maturation in a flock of naturally mating Bronze turkeys. Birds were processed at 7-d intervals beginning at photostimulation(29. 5 wk of age), for the following 5 wk, and following their first oviposition. The relatively low BW of this strain(6. 6 kg) was associated with a very low lipid content(16. 4%), abdominal fat pad weight(107 g), and breast muscle weight(1. 15 kg). At sexual maturity the ovary contained 12. 2 large yellow follicles with 1. 4 unreconciled POF(the remnant of the site of ovulation). The presence of unreconciled POF suggest that this may be a natural phenomenon in turkeys and not limited to modern fast growing strains. 3, record 12, English, - unreconciled%20POF

Early-Weaning Rations.--There is increasing interest in weaning pigs at about 3 weeks of age, especially among producers who have suitable facilities. There are some commercial rations for this purpose and, because they contain skim-milk powder, sugar, protein, and vitamin and antibiotic supplements, they are more expensive than most other feeds sold for pigs.... If you wean pigs at about 15 pounds average weight, feed them a special prestarter or early-weaning ration, preferably a commercial one, until they weigh about 30 pounds. Then change gradually to a grower ration. Each pig needs about 10-15 pounds of prestarter. 1, record 19, English, - early%2Dweaning%20ration

The first six items of the Code relate to primary prevention : no smoking, moderate alcohol intake, no excessive exposure to sunlight, respect safety instructions, regular consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as high-fiber foods, and avoid excessive body weight. The last four items concern secondary prevention. They recommend to see a physician in the case of a changing beauty spot, an appearing nodule, an abnormal blood loss, a persistent cough or hoarse voice, a persistent stool change or an unexplained loss of body weight. Women are advised to examine their breast regularly, to have a smear of the cervix uteri periodically, and to have mammographies taken as from the age of 50. 1, record 34, English, - European%20cancer%20code

1, record 34, French, - code%20europ%C3%A9en%20contre%20le%20cancer

Body condition score : an assessment of the animal' s weight for age and weight for height ratios, and its relative proportions of muscle and fat. The assessment is made by eye, comparing the beast under examination with a stereotyped animal on a chart. The estimate is made on the basis of amount of tissue cover between the points of the hip, over the transverse processes of the lumbar vertebrae, the cover over the ribs and the pin bones below the tail. 2, record 40, English, - loss%20of%20body%20condition

[Curled toe paralysis] occurs in chicks and poults up to three weeks of age on deficient starter diets. The toes are curled downward and inward and the weight is supported mainly on the hocks. Consequently the birds are reluctant to move and become recumbent; their growth is retarded and eventually they become emaciated and die. 3, record 41, English, - curled%20toe%20paralysis

3, record 41, French, - paralysie%20par%20contracture%20des%20doigts

Frame Representation. A frame is a collection of slots and values that is used to represent a piece of knowledge. For example a "person frame" could have slots named : name, sex, age, hair color, eye color, height, and weight. A particular person would then have all the slots filled in with the correct values. Also, most frame-based systems extend this idea to inheritance. For example, a person is an example of a mammal, which has its own slots. A system can then make inferences based on these inherited values(e. g., mammals are warm blooded, therefore "Joe" is warm blooded). Because of the emphasis on CML in Chapter 4, this book sometimes refers to frames as being two dimensional, with rows being individual frames and columns being slots. 2, record 42, English, - frame%2Dstructured%20representation

Litter records of each breeding sow should be summarized annually. All items of performance should be considered and sows whose litters have not performed well in terms of number marketed, growth rate, and carcass should be culled.(...) Selecting replacement gilts.--The desirability of maximum hybrid vigor in the breeding females has already been emphasized. Thus, hybrid gilts selected for breeding should have above-average hybrid vigor--in other words, strong vigorous gilts with good weight for age. Further, gilts should be chosen from litters that are uniformly superior in these traits. 2, record 43, English, - replacement%20gilt

1, record 43, French, - truie%20de%20remplacement
