Kasugamycin... Use Pattern and Formulations : Kasugamycin is not registered in the U. S. [September 2005], however, tolerances were established to cover residues on imported tomatoes and peppers from Mexico where the registrant is seeking to register Kasumin® 2L, a liquid formulation comprised of 2% kasugamycin(by weight) as the active ingredient(ai), for use on rice, potato, pepper, and tomato in Mexico. The product is formulated from kasugamycin hydrochloride hydrate(2. 3%) and contains 2% kasugamycin(0. 1667 lb ai/gal) as the free base. Kasugamycin is also formulated as a co-active ingredient(at 5%) along with copper oxychloride(at 45%, expressed as copper) in a wettable powder(WP), designated Kasumin Cobre®. Additionally, the Kasumin® formulation is a WP containing 8% kasugamycin. The principal target organisms are bacteria rot(Erwinia atroseptica) and leaf mold(Cladosporium fulvum) on tomato, and bacteria spot(Xanthomonas campestris, pv vesicatoria) on both tomato and pepper.

This is the crystalline HCl hydrate form (derivative) of the antibiotic pesticide (bactericide and fungicide) kasugamycin, and the form in which kasugamycin is usually sold. Note that the Chemical Abstracts Service [CAS] registry number for kasugamycin is 6980-18-3, whereas that of kasugamycin hydrochloride hydrate is 19408-46-9. The molecular structure of this chemical derivative is only slightly different from that of the parent molecule kasugamycin.

Tin plate is now sold both on a weight per unit area basis and on a thickness basis. The old unit of area is the base box, equal to the area of 112 sheets, 14 by 20 inches, or 31 360 square inches(217. 78 square feet). The new unit of thickness is the millimetre and the corresponding area designation for pricing and weight or area calculations is the SITA(System International Tin Plate Area) which equals 100 square metres or 4. 9426 base boxes.... The use of symbols to designate gage was displaced by the use of base weights(or basis weights) expressed in pounds per base box that also indicated the approximate thickness of the tin-mill product... With the recent introduction of the metric system(SI) in production, gage is the basic unit for specification and area becomes only a derived value for commercial usage.

Tinplate sheets used to manufacture cans and boxes were originally packed into wooden boxes in order to protect the polished tin surface. Sheets cut to 35 cm X 50 cm (14 X 20 in) and of 0.3 mm thickness weighed approx. 454 g (1 lb) and 112 were packed into a box, known as the "basis box". Variation in thickness of sheet cut to the same size would vary the weight, and larger sizes were made, although these were then called "tinned sheets". Modern production techniques favour reeling into rools for shipment, and protection with interleaving of paper or plastic where necessary.

Plastic filter cloth shall be a pervious sheet of plastic monofilament yarn woven into a uniform pattern with distinct and measurable openings. The plastic yarn shall be synthetic polymer composed of at least 85 percent by weight of propylene, ethylene, or vinylidene-chloride, and shall contain stabilizers and/or inhibitors added to the base plastic to make the filaments resistant to deterioration due to ultraviolet and/or heat exposure. The cloth shall be calendered so that the yarns will retain their relative position with respect to each other.... All brands of plastic filter cloth to be used shall meet the requirement of this Specification when tested according to the procedures [of] the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers....
