The set point theory [is] arguably the most influential and debated theory of body weight control. It suggests that like temperature in a room controlled by a thermostat, body weight(or body fat) is controlled by an equivalent device(ponderostat, adipostat) residing in the hypothalamus. Borrowing from the engineering vocabulary, this device receives feedback input from the controlled parameter(room temperature, body weight or body fat), and generates an error signal in a comparator if this feedback signal is deviating from a preset reference value(set point). The error signal is used to turn up or down any mechanisms that determine the level of the controlled parameter(heat production or dissipation in the case of room temperature, metabolizable energy-in or energy lost in the case of body weight/adiposity). 4, record 1, English, - ponderostat

2, record 1, French, - pond%C3%A9rostat

Factors that affect the appearance of a latent print include the pliability of skin, condition of skin, deposition pressure, lateral movement, matrix (substance coating the ridges), substrate (surface on which the print is deposited), and development method. An important part of the initial analysis is the determination of how these factors might affect the latent print. 3, record 2, English, - deposition%20pressure

It is well known that the pressure of deposition is an important parameter for the success of latent fingermark visualization; the higher the pressure the more fingermark material that is left. Therefore, for this indirect method, it was suggested that the female donors may have applied less force while depositing the fingermarks, due to the lighter weight of their hands compared to those of the male donors... 2, record 2, English, - deposition%20pressure

The concept of a dynamic amplification factor (DAF) is used to describe the ratio between the maximum load effect when a bridge is loaded dynamically, and the maximum load effect when the same load is applied statically to the bridge. 2, record 3, English, - dynamic%20amplification%20factor
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 2 CONT
The dynamic amplification factor(DAF) is an important parameter in the design of highway bridges and yet no worldwide consensus has been reached so far as to its value. Some disagreement exists between provisions of various national bridge codes. This is because the DAF depends, in addition to the maximum span or the natural frequency, on many other parameters that are difficult to take into account with reasonable accuracy. Vehicle speed, weight, and dynamic characteristics, the state of the structure, roadway roughness, expansion joints, the type of bridge supports, soil-structure interaction, and influence of secondary elements are some aspects influencing the DAF. This study reviews the analytical and experimental findings on bridge dynamics and the evaluation of the DAF. 3, record 3, English, - dynamic%20amplification%20factor
