The foil is shaped in such a way that it generates lift as water flows over and under it. This lift counteracts the weight of the vessel, reducing the amount of hull surface area in contact with the water. As a result, hydrofoils decrease hydrodynamic drag, allowing the vessel to glide more efficiently through the water. 3, record 1, English, - hydrofoil

A burial vault is a sealed outer container into which as casket is placed prior to its underground interment or burial in a cemetery. Its use will provide added protection for both the casket and deceased, particularly where there are poor soil conditions and high ground water levels. It will also support the weight of the earth and heavy equipment that may pass over the grave, thus substantially reducing problems at the graveside and, in turn, cemetery costs. 4, record 10, English, - burial%20vault

Endurance horses have a physical look which could be described as small and wiry, without excessive muscling. Typical body weight measurements would be in the range of 850 to 1050 pounds. The trapped vortex combustion(TVC) concept is a revolutionary technology with potential payoffs in almost every category of gas turbine combustor performance including heat release rate, operability, weight, and even cost. High-pressure testing results of a prototype TVC sector indicate it can help meet increased performance requirements while reducing overall emissions. TVC may also be used as a rich-burn, quick-quench, lean-burn method to reduce nitric oxide in ground power gas turbine engines that operate on low-cost fuels containing fuel-bound nitrogen. 3, record 16, English, - rich%2Dburn%2C%20quick%2Dquench%2C%20lean%2Dburn

Paste backfill is defined as an engineered mixture of fine solid particles(with binder) and water, containing between 72% and 85% solids by weight. Particles in a paste mixture will not settle out of the mixture if allowed to remain stationary in a tank or in a pipeline. It can be placed in stopes with or without binder addition depending on the strength requirements for backfill. Improved pumping technology, environmental concerns and the need for a low cost/high strength fill in mines are driving mine operators to consider paste backfill as a tailings management and mine backfill alternative. The main advantages and disadvantages of a paste backfill system over a conventional hydraulic backfill plant are generally accepted as :... higher strengths can be achieved with an equivalent cement content; drainage of water and slimes from the fill are minimized, reducing the need for bulkhead construction and extensive drainage works. This feature also reduces maintenance on sumps and mine de-watering pumps; in some cases, unclassified tailings can be used to make paste rather than just the coarse fraction as is the case for hydraulic backfill; shorter stope cycle times can be achieved because an equivalent strength can be achieved in a shorter time with paste backfill; paste backfill systems achieve lower porosities than conventional fill thereby increasing the tonnage of material that can be disposed of underground; and, since paste backfill is deposited as a non-segregated mass of backfill(because cement particles are not displaced by the internal movements of the draining water), more predictable strength properties for the fill can be achieved. 2, record 18, English, - paste%20backfilling%20system

Paste backfilling of mines. A number of mines are installing paste fill systems to replace the current sand fill method. The justification and economies of this conversion include: higher production levels (less wait for dewatering), increased grade of ore to the mill, decrease of stope ore left as pillars, improved haulage with the removal of excess moisture, increased filling rates, and a higher strength fill with less waiting time. The unique problems associated with paste fill applications range from extremely rapid system wear to paste separation and system blockage. 3, record 18, English, - paste%20backfilling%20system

Remblayage. 2, record 18, French, - syst%C3%A8me%20de%20remblayage%20par%20p%C3%A2te

Ghrelin, a new obesity related peptide and endogenous ligand for growth hormone seretagogue receptor(GHS-Rs), regulates pituitary growth hormone(GH) secretion. Ghrelin participates in energy balance in rodents by decreasing fat utilization without significantly changing energy expenditure or locomotor activity. Peripheral daily administration of Ghrelin caused weight gain by reducing fat utilization in mice and rats. Regardless of the style, all heads can be fitted with parison programming. A parison programmer is a device that can change the gap or relationship between the head tooling die and mandrel while the parison is extruded. Thus, the wall thickness of the parison is changed and becomes ringed with sections of thinner and thicker material. These "rings" are located to correspond to specific sections of the bottle or blow-molded part where the part thickness may be too thin or too thick. For many blow-molded parts, parison programming has the potential of reducing part weight and cost while improving performance and strength. 3, record 22, English, - parison%20programming

[...] -Programmation hydraulique. [...] -Programmation électro-hydraulique. One of the most effective strategies in the first press position(i. e., for flow-limited presses) is to use a double-felted and double-vented nip(i. e., with grooved or blind-drilled rolls in both positions).... In this arrangement, dewatering takes place in both directions, thus reducing the distance for vertical travel. Double-felting is also useful at the second and third presses for sheets above 130 g/m² basis weight. 2, record 24, English, - double%2Dfelted%20and%20double%2Dvented%20nip%20press
