Record number: 2, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Body roundness index(BRI) might be a more accurate measurement than body mass index(BMI) for predicting weight-related health risks... BMI has long been the standard to classify a person's body weight as too low, normal, overweight, or obese. While BMI often reflects a person's body fat amount, it doesn’t account for fat distribution or the amount of muscle mass.... BRI addresses these shortcomings by focusing on a person's height, waist size, and hip size. By taking weight out of the equation, BRI provides a better indicator of how much belly fat(visceral fat) surrounds the organs inside the abdomen. High amounts of belly fat are linked to high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and some cancers. 3, record 2, English, - body%20roundness%20index

Biliopancreatic diversion is primarily a malabsorptive procedure. The standard procedure involves the removal of part of the stomach(a limited horizontal gastrectomy) to limit oral intake and induce weight loss. The gastric pouch that is created is larger than that of gastric bypass or the restrictive procedures, therefore allowing larger meals, and patients remain on a less restricted diet than would the case following gastric bypass. Part of the small intestine is also bypassed by the construction of a long limb Roux-en-Y anastomosis with a short common "alimentary" channel of 50 cm length. 5, record 3, English, - biliopancreatic%20diversion

Biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch is a modification of the biliopancreatic diversion procedure... Biliopancreatic diversion is primarily a malabsorptive procedure. The standard procedure involves the removal of part of the stomach(a limited horizontal gastrectomy) to limit oral intake and induce weight loss.... The combination of biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch is an additional adaptation of the standard procedure. It has a sleeve gastrectomy rather than a horizontal gastrectomy. 5, record 4, English, - biliopancreatic%20diversion%20with%20duodenal%20switch
Record number: 4, Textual support number: 2 CONT
In a biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch, a portion of the stomach is removed but the pylorus remains intact. The pylorus, which controls food drainage from the stomach, is connected to a lower segment of the intestine. The duodenum is connected to the lower part of the small intestine. The food you eat then bypasses much of the small intestine. This results in fewer calories absorbed and weight loss. 6, record 4, English, - biliopancreatic%20diversion%20with%20duodenal%20switch

pound : A measure of weight and mass derived from the ancient Roman "libra"(=327. 25 grams), but very [often] modified in the course of ages in different countries, and... used for different classes of things; in Great Britain, now fixed for use in trade by a Parliamentary standard. Denoted by "lb. "(Latin "libra"). Formerly used without change in the pl., a usage still sometimes retained after a numeral, esp. dial. and colloq., also in comb. as "a five pound note, ""a twenty pound shot. "This pound consisted originally of 12 ounces, corresponding more or less to that of troy weight, which contains 5760 grains=373. 26 grams. This is still used by goldsmiths and jewellers in stating the weight of gold, silver, and precious stones, but as early as the thirteenth or fourteenth century, a pound of sixteen ounces was in use for more bulky commodities. This was made a standard for general purposes of trade by Edward III, and known as the pound "aveir de peis, "i. e. of merchandise of weight, now called "avoirdupois. "This pound of 16 ounces, containing 7000 grains=453. 6 grams, has been since 1826 the only legal pound for buying or selling any commodity in Great Britain. In former times, the pound varied locally from 12 to 27 ounces, according to the commodity, pounds of different weight being often used in the same place for different articles such as bread, butter, cheese, meat, malt, hay, wool... The Scotch pound of 16 ounces of Troy or Dutch Weight consisted of 7608. 9496 grains; the Tron pound kept at Edinburgh=9622. 67 grains. "Pound" is also used to translate foreign names of weights, of cognate origin or representatives of Latin "libra. "These vary greatly : in Italy, between 300 and 350 grams, in Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands and some German states, between 459 and 469 grams, and in other German states, Denmark, etc., between 477 and 510. 22 grams. But the standard German "Pfund" is now 500 grams, i. e. half a kilogram. 10, record 5, English, - pound

7, record 5, French, - livre
Record number: 5, Textual support number: 3 OBS
6, record 5, French, - livre

According to... the "Standard Proctor test"... a sample of soil is dried, pulverized and separated into two fractions by a no. 4 sieve. About 6 lb of the finer fraction are moistened with a small quantity of water and thoroughly mixed to produce a damp aggregate that is then packed, in three equal layers, into a cylindrical container of specified dimensions. Each layer is compacted by 25 blows of a standard tamper that is allowed to fall from a height of 1 ft. When the cylinder has been filled and struck off level at the top, the weight and the water content of the damp soil of the container are determined. By means of these quantities, the dry density can be computed. In a similar manner the dry density is determined for successively damper mixtures of the aggregate, until the dry density after compaction decreases conspicuously with increasing water content. A curve is plotted showing the relation between dry density and water content. 3, record 16, English, - standard%20Proctor%2Dtest

"atomic mass unit": For an element, it is the number which specifies how many times heavier one atom of the element is than one atom of hydrogen. L'établissement de tables de poids atomiques [...]. [...]

Smoke Measurement ... It has been known for many years that the tar yield of any brand of cigarette does not necessarily correspond with the tar delivery of that cigarette to a human smoker. As the Fourth Report of the ISCSH observed: "These parameters have been criticised as not reflecting average human behaviour and leading to published yields universally under-estimating yields actually obtained by the average smoker. Critics of the machine smoking procedure have frequently failed to understand that values presented in tables published by DHSS have never been intended to be actual yields obtained by any one smoker. dry standard cubic meters(dscm) : Concentration of contaminants in gases emitted from sources(such as cement kilns) are generally expressed as a weight of that material per a volume of gas. Emissions from sources often contain water vapor from evaporation of water in the processed material or as water from combustion of hydrocarbons. This amount varies from source to source and at variable temperatures from source to source. To make an emission rate meaningful for comparison to another source or to a permit limit, the emission rate must be stated as a weight per(dry) gas at standard conditions. The specific standard conditions are set by the applicable authority, often a national laboratory group. 3, record 37, English, - dry%20standard%20cubic%20meter

Atomic weight. The nucleus of an atom is made up of neutrons and protons. The total mass of the neutrons and protons along with the electrons gives the mass of the atom.... Because this value is so small, a new unit of weight, the atomic weight unit(awu), is often used to express the weights of atoms. It is defined as 1/12 the weight of carbon atom. Titrage.

Tin Plate. ... When coated by the hot-dip process, the tin plate was termed coke tin plate or charcoal tin plate. When coated by the electrolytic process, it is termed electrolytic tin plate. ... Hot-Dipped Tin Plate. Tin plate formerly was produced by the hot-dip tinning of thin plates that had been hammered or rolled from bars of puddled iron. The pig iron used in pudding might have been made in blast furnaces using charcoal or coke as fuel. Plates made from "charcoal iron" were considered a more ductile and higher grade product; hence, tin plate made by coating charcoal-iron plates with tin (charcoal tin plate) was regarded as a product of higher quality than tin plate with a coke-iron base (coke tin plate). At present, the designation "charcoal tin plate" merely indicates plate with a relatively heavy tin coating as compared with "coke tin plate" as described below, and has no significance so far as quality of the steel base is concerned. 2, record 52, English, - charcoal%20plate

Coating weights : Pure tin coating on a hot-dip tin plate is mechanically distributed over sheet surface by tinning rolls. Due to nature of this tinning operation and elevated temperature of metal it is not possible to control, within close limits, tin coating weight. For these and other reasons, coating is measured and described by "tin pot yield" method. Total weight(in pounds) of tin consumed in manufacture of one base box, is pot yield. Terms, charcoal plate and coke plate, which in last century described quality of iron used as a base metal, have now come to be applied to tin plate of certain coating thickness. Amount of coating on coke plates is generally between 1. 24 and 2. 5 pounds per base box-on charcoal plates between 3 pounds and 5 pounds per base box. The term "material measure" is acceptable in English ..., when there is particular need to avoid ambiguity in referring to a device of the "passive" type. ...
