Biceps curls can be done using any of the following equipment : dumbbells, barbell, E-Z bar..., cable machine, biceps curling machine. Although the exercises differ, a common factor of each is a "curling" motion, where a weight-attached to an item of equipment listed above-is moved through an arc, primarily using the strength of the biceps. The biceps is contracted to lift the weight upward through the arc, to a point where further movement is not possible. The biceps is then extended, lowering the weight back through the arc, to the start position. 3, record 4, English, - biceps%20curl

A paraglider is made up of the wing, rigging(lines), small carabiner, and risers.... Lines. Commonly known as lines(a set of rigging) measuring variously between 0. 4-1. 7 mm, even 2. 2 mm, their high level of strength or weight resistance depends on their thickness and the properties of material used in its construction. They are usually concerned with a protective sheath to guard against ground friction and are made from dyneema, kevlar, spectra, superaramid and so on. The lines attach the wing to risers which in turn are attached to the pilots harness, and extend from the wings downward side in the order specified by the particular manufacturer, gradually tapering off in thickness and number via a series of quick links. Finally they end up in tiny linkages(known as small carabiner) from the risers. 6, record 9, English, - suspension%20line

In avalanche forecasting, the concept of "bridging" refers to the point in time when the strong snow that overlies a weak layer becomes strong enough that it "bridges" over the weakness. The idea here is that when this point occurs, the strong snow will carry the weight of a person and prevent their force from penetrating through to the weak layer. The strong snow is the "bridge. "So then, bridging strength refers to the strength of the bridge. 3, record 35, English, - bridging%20strength

Paste backfill is defined as an engineered mixture of fine solid particles(with binder) and water, containing between 72% and 85% solids by weight. Particles in a paste mixture will not settle out of the mixture if allowed to remain stationary in a tank or in a pipeline. It can be placed in stopes with or without binder addition depending on the strength requirements for backfill. Improved pumping technology, environmental concerns and the need for a low cost/high strength fill in mines are driving mine operators to consider paste backfill as a tailings management and mine backfill alternative. The main advantages and disadvantages of a paste backfill system over a conventional hydraulic backfill plant are generally accepted as :... higher strengths can be achieved with an equivalent cement content; drainage of water and slimes from the fill are minimized, reducing the need for bulkhead construction and extensive drainage works. This feature also reduces maintenance on sumps and mine de-watering pumps; in some cases, unclassified tailings can be used to make paste rather than just the coarse fraction as is the case for hydraulic backfill; shorter stope cycle times can be achieved because an equivalent strength can be achieved in a shorter time with paste backfill; paste backfill systems achieve lower porosities than conventional fill thereby increasing the tonnage of material that can be disposed of underground; and, since paste backfill is deposited as a non-segregated mass of backfill(because cement particles are not displaced by the internal movements of the draining water), more predictable strength properties for the fill can be achieved. 2, record 43, English, - paste%20backfilling%20system

Paste backfilling of mines. A number of mines are installing paste fill systems to replace the current sand fill method. The justification and economies of this conversion include: higher production levels (less wait for dewatering), increased grade of ore to the mill, decrease of stope ore left as pillars, improved haulage with the removal of excess moisture, increased filling rates, and a higher strength fill with less waiting time. The unique problems associated with paste fill applications range from extremely rapid system wear to paste separation and system blockage. 3, record 43, English, - paste%20backfilling%20system

Remblayage. 2, record 43, French, - syst%C3%A8me%20de%20remblayage%20par%20p%C3%A2te

Resistance training refers to training where an overload resistance is applied. The resistance can be low, usually referred to as muscular endurance training, or moderate to high, called strength training. Strength training needs to be of a high intensity to produce gains in strength and BMD [bone mineral density]. Any form of strength training should be site specific i.e. targeting areas such as the muscle groups around the hip, the quadriceps, dorsi/plantar flexors, rhomboids, wrist extensors and back extensors. 4, record 44, English, - strength%20training

It is important to prevent wear of contact strip by arc during current collection and corrugate trolley wires. It is a key subject to ensure dynamic stability of the system for speed-up. For this purpose, the strength of trolley wire has been increased. Improvement of anti-arc properties and reduction of weight of sliders are also useful. For those purposes, high strength composite contact wires, high strength precipitation hardened copper alloy contact wires and metallized carbon sliders have been developed. Efforts are required to find an optimum combination of contact wire and slider materials. 2, record 59, English, - anti%2Darc

Count, which is the fourth element in woven fabric construction, is the number of yarns per inch of fabric. It is a vital consideration in the construction of woven fabrics because it affects absorbency, adhesion, permeability, strength, weight, bulk, flexibility, and other fabric characteristics. The "gray" or unfinished fabric count, however, may be misleading because of dimensional changes due to finishing or to tension and other factors in subsequent processing. Because good looks are not generally a requirement for industrial fabrics, many fabrics are used "in the gray"--without any finishing process. 2, record 60, English, - greige%20goods

Regardless of the style, all heads can be fitted with parison programming. A parison programmer is a device that can change the gap or relationship between the head tooling die and mandrel while the parison is extruded. Thus, the wall thickness of the parison is changed and becomes ringed with sections of thinner and thicker material. These "rings" are located to correspond to specific sections of the bottle or blow-molded part where the part thickness may be too thin or too thick. For many blow-molded parts, parison programming has the potential of reducing part weight and cost while improving performance and strength. 3, record 64, English, - parison%20programming

Unplasticized PVC presents some processing difficulties due to its high melt viscosity; in addition, the finished product is too brittle for some applications. To overcome these problems and to produce toughening, certain polymeric additives are usually added to the PVC. These materials, known as impact modifiers, are generally semicompatible and often somewhat rubbery in nature. Among the most important impact modifiers in use today are butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymers (nitrile rubber), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) graft terpolymers, methacrylate-butadiene-styrene (MBS) terpolymers, chlorinated polyethylene, and some polyacrylates. 4, record 65, English, - impact%20modifier

The strength of an explosive is related to its energy content and is therefore regarded as a measure of its ability to do useful work... In the past, the strength of a particular dynamite type explosive was determined by comparing its capacity to deflect a ballistic mortar with that of Blasting Gelatine or TNT.... In the trade, two ratings of strength are used... Some manufacturers rate their explosives on weight strength and others on a cartridge strength basis. Some do not even rate them at all in their literature, but refer to them under a trade name... The strength of blasting agents is expressed on a different basis. 3, record 73, English, - strength
