Bendway weirs are discontinuous, redirective structures usually constructed of rock, designed to capture and then safely direct the flow through a meander bend. A minimum of five structures are typically placed in series(the series are known as "weir fields") along straight or convex bank lines. Bendway weirs differ from spurs and vanes in that they form a control system that captures and directs the streamflow through the weir field, usually all the way through the bend(hence the name bendway weirs). Bendway weirs are generally longer... and lower than barbs or spurs, flat crested, and designed to be continuously submerged or at least overtopped by the design flows. 2, record 6, English, - bendway%20weir

[A pneumatic flotation machine consisting] of a long trough in the bottom of which is a longitudinal cylindrical rotor, covered with a porous medium, revolving slowly at about 15 revolutions per minute. The rotor is mounted at each end on hollow shafts extending out of the cell at each end through packing glands or through specially designed gland eliminators. Low-pressure air is introduced through the shaft at either end, or, for better control of aeration in various parts of the cell, the rotor may be divided into two sections and air introduced at both ends. The rotor is fitted with two longitudinal angle-iron scraper bars, which prevent settling and accumulation below it and thus protect the mat. The pulp enters at one end and is subjected to thorough aeration in passing through the machine. Froth overflows the sides, and tailings are discharged at the end by means of an adjustable weir overflow. 1, record 13, English, - Callow%2DMacIntosh%20machine

1, record 20, Spanish, - cierre%20hidr%C3%A1ulico

The National Anthem of Canada.--"O Canada! Our home and native land! True patriot love in all thy sons command. With glowing hearts we see thee rise, The True North strong and free! From far and wide, O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. God keep our land glorious and free! O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. "O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. "--"O Canada" was proclaimed Canada's national anthem on July 1, 1980, one hundred years after it was first sung on June 24, 1880. The music was composed by Calixa Lavallée, a well-known composer; French lyrics to accompany the music were written by Sir Adolphe-Basile Routhier. The song gained steadily in popularity. Many English versions have appeared over the years. The version on which the official English lyrics are based was written in 1908 by Mr. Justice Robert Stanley Weir. The official English version includes changes recommended in 1968 by a Special Joint Committee of the Senate and House of Commons. The French lyrics remained unaltered. 2, record 21, English, - O%20Canada

Critical lip pressure method... If hot water or a water/steam mixture is discharged at sonic velocity through an open-ended pipe, and if the pressure is measured at the discharge lip of the pipe, this pressure is a measure of the heat flow of the discharged fluid. James has deduced... [a] formula expressed in f. p. s. units... Where the two phases of a water/steam mixture are segregated by means of a cyclone separator the water can be measured either by a cooled orifice or, after allowing for the flashed steam, by means of a V-notch or weir. Alternatively, however, the water may simply be discharged at sonic velocity through an open-ended pipe and measured by applying... [James] formula. By measuring the temperature of the water leaving the separator its enthalpy is made known, and... [the flow] can be deduced from... [the critical lip pressure]. 1, record 66, English, - critical%20lip%20pressure%20method
