A defect triggered in the root pass of a weld in the immediate neighbourhood of the contact zone, and which spreads radially between the grains when under stress in service. 1, record 2, English, - delayed%20re%2Dheat%20cracking
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
[Delayed re-heat cracking] only occurs with certain materials such as 321 type stainless steel, as it is caused by hardening of the steel due to fine precipitations of titanium carbide inside the crystalline structure. The hardening causes the plastic deformation capacity to be transferred to the periphery of the grains. For this to happen, the following conditions have to be met: a high operating temperature ([higher than] 475°C for 321 steel), a geometrical discontinuity at the weld root, strain hardening at the weld root showing significant shrinkage, heavy local load, which may be due to welding stresses, a defect in the weld root (e.g. a small shrinkage crack). 1, record 2, English, - delayed%20re%2Dheat%20cracking

Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Continent-Continent Convergence-Low-density continental lithosphere does not easily subduct, so that when two continents collide the two continents may more or less "weld" together in a suture zone. The continent crust may be thickened, because one continent plate can slide(grudgingly) a little way under the other. The result is a mountain range or high plateau in the interior of an enlarged(accreted) continent. 3, record 3, English, - suture%20zone
