3, record 1, French, - tuf%20pyroclastique

A pyroclastic rock deposit formed by one or more ground-hugging flows of hot volcanic fragments and particles ... 3, record 2, English, - ignimbrite
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
An ignimbrite is the deposit of a pyroclastic density current, or pyroclastic flow, a hot suspension of particles and gases that flows rapidly from a volcano, driven by a greater density than the surrounding atmosphere. Ignimbrites are often of dacitic or rhyolitic composition. 4, record 2, English, - ignimbrite
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
When coined by the New Zealand geologist P. Marshall in 1935, the term "ignimbrite" referred only to flows with emplacement temperatures high enough to cause the fragments forming the deposit to become adhered together or welded; this restriction no longer applies, and the term now includes any pyroclastic-flow deposit, welded or not. 3, record 2, English, - ignimbrite

Roche volcanique constituée de débris dacitiques à rhyolitiques soudés à chaud. 3, record 2, French, - ignimbrite
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
3, record 2, French, - ignimbrite
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 2 CONT

1, record 2, Spanish, - ignimbrita
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
1, record 2, Spanish, - ignimbrita

Welded tuff is a pyroclastic rock, of any origin, that was sufficiently hot at the time of deposition to weld together. 3, record 3, English, - welded%20tuff
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Because the particles are still warm and soft, they can weld together under the weight of overlying deposits, forming a hard rock. 2, record 3, English, - welded%20tuff
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 2 OBS
Many ignimbrites are loose, unconsolidated deposits, but some exhibit welding, giving the ignimbrite the texture of a solid rock mass, hence the terms commonly used to describe these examples :welded tuff and welded ashflow. 4, record 3, English, - welded%20tuff
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 3 OBS
Strictly speaking, if the rock contains scattered pea-sized fragments or fiamme in it, it is called a welded lapilli-tuff. Welded tuffs (and welded lapilli-tuffs) can be of fallout origin, or deposited from pyroclastic density currents, as in the case of ignimbrites. 3, record 3, English, - welded%20tuff

2, record 4, French, - coul%C3%A9e%20de%20cendres%20soud%C3%A9es

If sufficiently hot when deposited, the particles in an ignimbrite may weld together, and the deposit is transformed into a "welded ignimbrite, "made of eutaxitic lapilli-tuff. When this happens, the pumice lapilli commonly flatten, and these appear on rock surfaces as dark lense-shapes, known as fiamme. Intensely welded ignimbrite may have glassy zones near the base and top, called lower and upper "vitrophyres, "but central parts are microcrystalline("lithoidal"). 2, record 5, English, - welded%20ignimbrite
