A tube well as the name implies is simply a tube or pipe bored into the underground reservoir, fitted with a strainer at the lower end and worked at the top by a pump, to lift water for irrigation. A tube well is type of water well in which a long 5 to 8 inch wide stainless steel tube is inserted in the well. This tube is then extended to the underground water below the lower surface of the well. 3, record 2, English, - tube%20well

Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 CONT
A multiple well system is a group of closely installed shallow tubewells, usually connected to a common header pipe or manifold and pumped by suction lift of a centrifugal pump. Such a system is also known as a well point system or battery of wells. The individual wells in a well battery may be strainer wells or cavity wells, depending on the characteristics of the water bearing formation. In areas where the water bearing formations are not appreciably thick, or good quality water is available only in the upper layers of unconfined aquifers, multiple well system is often beneficial. 4, record 3, English, - interconnected%20wells

Essentially a shallow well comprising a small well screen of about 50 mm diameter by 0.5 - 1.0 m long, connected to a length of riser pipe which can be installed by jetting with a high-pressure water-jetting pump. Wellpoints are normally closely spaced (1-3 m) to enclose the excavation to be dewatered and connected to a common suction-header main and thence to a high-vacuum suction pump. 1, record 4, English, - wellpoint
