CCAF-FCVI Inc. is our formal and full name. It is a contraction of the name that were incorporated under in 1980-the Canadian Comprehensive Auditing Foundation-La Fondation canadienne pour la vérification intégrée. Although some still know us by our original name, several years ago our members approved its formal contraction to CCAF-FCVI. This was done in recognition that to fulfill our mission we needed to go beyond an unalloyed focus on audit and also deal with aspects of governance and management that are also essential to strong accountability, good stewardship, and well-performing organizations.

La Fondation se nomme officiellement la CCAF-FCVI Inc. Il s'agit d'une contraction du nom sous lequel elle a été constituée en société en 1980, soit la Canadian Comprehensive Auditing Foundation - Fondation canadienne pour la vérification intégrée. Il y a quelques années, ses membres ont approuvé la décision de rebaptiser la Fondation, reconnaissant par là que, pour s'acquitter efficacement de sa mission, la CCAF-FCVI ne devait aucunement se limiter à la vérification. Il lui fallait se pencher, comme elle le faisait déjà depuis plusieurs années, sur la gouverne et la gestion, et tout particulièrement sur les aspects de ces deux domaines qui sont également essentiels à une solide reddition de comptes, à une saine gestion et à la bonne performance des organisations.
