Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The ocean comprising the southern reaches of the Pacific, Atlantic, and Indian Oceans, surrounding the Antarctic continent. It is measured sometimes from the Antarctic Circle, sometimes from the northern limit of floating ice, a line varying from 47° to 61°S. (area by the latter measure: 5,700,000 square miles). Greatest sounded depth: 4,000 fathoms. 4, record 1, English, - Antarctic%20Ocean
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 OBS
The Southern Ocean, also known as the Great Southern Ocean, the Antarctic Ocean and the South Polar Ocean, comprises the southernmost waters of the World Ocean south of 60° S latitude. The International Hydrographic Organization has designated the Southern Ocean as an oceanic division encircling Antarctica. Geographers disagree on the Southern Ocean's northern boundary or even its existence, sometimes considering the waters part of the South Pacific, South Atlantic, and Indian Oceans instead. Some scientists consider the Antarctic Convergence, an ocean zone which fluctuates seasonally, as separating the Southern Ocean from other oceans, rather than 60° S. This ocean zone forms from the convergence of two circumpolar currents, one easterly flowing and one westerly flowing. The International Hydrographic Organization(IHO) regards the Southern Ocean as the fourth-largest of the five principal oceanic divisions and the latest-defined one. 3, record 1, English, - Antarctic%20Ocean

3, record 1, Spanish, - oc%C3%A9ano%20Ant%C3%A1rtico

A pool of cold air can also become ’detached’ at lower latitudes, i. e. away from the mid-latitude westerly zone, and drift slowly over relatively warmer seas,(e. g. the Mediterranean), and lead to intense convective development, often taking on marked cyclonic characteristics through the troposphere, and giving rise to locally severe conditions due to heavy rainfall, severe thunderstorms and squally winds. Remnants of these types of cold pool will sometimes drift polewards in summer and bring outbreaks of severe convective activity to mid-latitude regions, as these features will destabilise hot/humid air masses. 2, record 4, English, - cold%20air%20pool

3, record 4, French, - goutte%20d%27air%20froid
