[What does one] mean by holding? In psychology, the term has a specific meaning. It describes the way another person, often an authority figure, contains and interprets what's happening in times of uncertainty. Containing refers to the ability to soothe distress and interpreting to the ability to help others make sense of a confusing predicament. Think of a CEO [chief executive officer] who, in a severe downturn, reassures employees that the company has the resources to weather the storm and most jobs will be protected, helps them interpret revenue data, and gives clear directions about what must be done to service existing clients and develop new business.

Implied pot odds, or simply implied odds, are calculated the same way as pot odds, but take into consideration estimated future betting.

Implied pot odds are similar to regular pot odds in the mathematical sense, with the exception that you add another variable in the formula. This new variable is the amount of bets you expect to win from your opponents. In other words, implied pot odds include what's in the pot and what you bet right now, plus any future amounts that you think could be added following your action.

Vous devez faire des hypothèses sur le montant que l'adversaire va encore payer si jamais vous touchez votre tirage.

In our data rich environment accessing information has become less difficult than focussing on the right kind of information. In this new economy, capital, labour, information and knowledge are all in relatively plentiful supply. It's relatively easy to start a business, to get access to customers and markets, to develop a strategy, to put up a web site, do design ads and commercials. Yet what's in short supply is human attention... Unfortunately most organisations and individuals have precious little attention to spare. Attention is the real currency of business and individuals.
