... the TSB [Transportation Safety Board of Canada] analyzed specifically the aircraft steering system, while not ignoring the other factors mentioned above, although no indication was found that they could have contributed to the occurrence. To steer the aircraft on the ground, the pilot in the left seat uses the nose-gear steering wheel on the console to the pilot's left. During take-off and landing, directional control of the aircraft is maintained solely by the rudder. The aircraft's ground steering system comprises several components, including the nose-gear steering wheel, a system of cables and pulleys, and a steering control valve fitted to a nose-wheel steering cylinder, which is attached to the nose-wheel strut. The cable and pulley system links the steering wheel to the control valve. When the pilot turns the steering wheel to the left or right, tension is applied to the cables connected to the pulley on the steering control valve. This action determines the direction and the deflection rate of the nose wheel by allowing hydraulic fluid to enter one side or the other side of the nose-wheel steering cylinder; the steering cylinder then deflects the nose wheel through a system of gears. 3, record 8, English, - aircraft%20steering%20system

4, record 8, French, - syst%C3%A8me%20d%27orientation

The MLG [main landing gear] retracts inwards into the fuselage wheel well. Each MLG has two doors. The outboard door is rigidly attached at the strut. The inboard door operates by mechanical linkage to the strut and is held in up position by two uplock cylinders. This uplock is released when landing gear lever is placed in down position by hydraulic pressure, or by nitrogen pressure in emergency. The MLG is held, while airborne, in retracted position by hydraulic pressure in the actuator and by the inboard door mechanical uplock, if pressure drops. As the gear is extended, an internal lock in the actuator automatically locks it in fully extended positions. 4, record 13, English, - landing%20gear%20control%20lever

In aviation, the undercarriage or landing gear is the structure(usually wheels) that supports an aircraft on the ground and allows it to taxi.... Wheeled undercarriages come in two types : conventional or "taildragger" undercarriage, where there are two main wheels towards the front of the aircraft and a single, much smaller, wheel or skid at the rear; or tricycle undercarriage where there are two main wheels(or wheel assemblies) under the wings and a third smaller wheel in the nose. Most modern aircraft have tricycle undercarriages. 3, record 14, English, - main%20landing%20gear%20wheel

4, record 14, French, - roue%20de%20train%20d%27atterrissage%20principal

Aircraft reaction on flexible pavements follows the same basic pattern adopted for rigid pavement design and evaluation. In this case a four pavement model is analysed using the States Corps of Engineers’ development of the California Bearing Ratio(CBR) method. This includes Boussinesq deflection factors and takes into account interaction between adjacent landing gear wheel assemblies up to 20 radii distance. 1, record 27, English, - Boussinesq%20deflection%20factor

The tripod landing gear... is typical of airplanes such as the Aeronca and the Champion. This gear consists of three members hinged so as to form a triangle. Two of these are rigid. The third is an oleo leg, designed to telescope and hence shorten its length when the load comes on the wheel. On landing, the whole assembly spreads outwards and upwards until springs, rubber disks, or other devices take the weight. 1, record 30, English, - tripod%20landing%20gear
