A power wheelchair, also referred to as a power chair or electric wheelchair, is a battery-powered and motorized alternative to a traditional manual wheelchair. Featuring powerful electric motors, power chairs are easily operated through the use of a power joystick. Electric wheelchairs allow the user to travel effortlessly without any assistance from another person.

Bath-O-Matic is a cushion capable of supporting 300 pounds that attaches to the tub faucet. When it's filled with water, the cushion forms a rigid seat the height of a wheelchair, which a user can easily move to and sit on. Once on the cushion, the user opens a valve that lets the water out of the cushion and into the tub.

Pressure distribution is measured using pressure mapping devices and specialized computer software. By placing a sensor filled mat between the user and the wheelchair seat cushion, a clinician can analyze pressure distribution, contact area, peak pressure and other related characteristics. Pressure maps typically are shown as a graphical display showing pressure, in millimeters of mercury(mmHg), at each sensor point.
