Since the first U.N. for "international law of the sea" : Before 1958, some authors specified the "international" law of the sea, in order to differentiate it from maritime law relating to shipping, commerce, navigation and, generally, maritime affairs under the particular jurisdiction of sovereign states. The adjunct "international", no longer necessary, is now but implied when mentioning the law of the sea in its contemporary usage, that relating to maritime spaces and activities regulated under international treaties. 6, record 39, English, - law%20of%20the%20sea

According to... the "Standard Proctor test"... a sample of soil is dried, pulverized and separated into two fractions by a no. 4 sieve. About 6 lb of the finer fraction are moistened with a small quantity of water and thoroughly mixed to produce a damp aggregate that is then packed, in three equal layers, into a cylindrical container of specified dimensions. Each layer is compacted by 25 blows of a standard tamper that is allowed to fall from a height of 1 ft. When the cylinder has been filled and struck off level at the top, the weight and the water content of the damp soil of the container are determined. By means of these quantities, the dry density can be computed. In a similar manner the dry density is determined for successively damper mixtures of the aggregate, until the dry density after compaction decreases conspicuously with increasing water content. A curve is plotted showing the relation between dry density and water content. 3, record 51, English, - standard%20Proctor%2Dtest

A lease may be defined as a grant of the right to possession of the leased premises for a specified period of time commencing either immediately or at some ascertainable date in the future and ending at some point thereafter. A transaction is characterized as a lease rather than a grant when the owner or the grantor of the interest retains a "reversionary interest". In other words, possession of the leased premises reverts to the lessor on the termination of the lease. In order for the transaction to be characterized as a lease rather than a licence, the lessee's possession of the leased premises must be exclusive. If ultimate possession and control remain with the lessor, a licence rather than a lease will exist....("Real Estate and Landlord and Tenant", 1983-1984, p. 334) 1, record 77, English, - lease

The general principle with which construction commences is that all words importing futurity, whether conditional or merely temporal, make a gift "prima facie" contingent. Thus, where property is given to a person "if", or "provided that", a specified event occurs, the gift will be contingent, but it will also be contingent if words such as "at", or "upon" the occurrence of the event, or "when", "as", or "from and after" its occurrence are used. Hence, a gift "to A when he shall attain the age of 25 years", is "prima facie" contingent.(Anger & Honsberger, 2nd ed., 1985, p. 364) 1, record 83, English, - contingent%20gift

It is described in terms of horizontal and vertical dimensions, effective for a specified period of time. Although both IFR [instrument flight rules] and VFR [visual flight rules] flights are permitted in Class F airspace, restricted-airspace access is not authorized without the approval of the user/controlling agency, and advisory-area access is normally reserved for participating aircraft. Non-participating flights should avoid flight within advisory areas, and ATC [air traffic control] will not clear non-participating IFR aircraft into an active advisory area. When one wishes to perform site specific mutagenesis on a gene and re-express the mutant genes into altered proteins, several considerations should be taken initially to increase the efficiency of generating mutants. The first step is to construct the gene by chemical synthesis as it allows for the alteration of nucleotide sequence to accommodate changes in the overall design. In the case where host restriction... endonuclease recognition sites of the natural cDNA sequences are not suitable for performing molecular cloning, then it is possible to create additional useful restriction endonuclease recognition sites or alter the pre-existing sites. Because of the degeneracy of the genetic code, a particular amino acid can be specified by more than one, sometimes up to 6 different codons.... A computer program has been devised... which would search upon all these possible combinations of codons, while keeping the original amino acid sequence. 3, record 93, English, - chemical%20synthesis
