Snaffle bit used in conjunction with a curb bit in a double bridle. 4, record 1, English, - bridoon%20bit
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The bradoon bit sits higher in the mouth, placed where your ordinary snaffle would be. The weymouth sits under it. Both bits sit across the bars of the mouth so both also lie across the tongue. They don’t sit on top of each other.... When a double bridle is hanging up ready for use, the bridoon appears to be in front of the curb bit--the V of its joint hanging down in front of the straighter curb mouthpiece. 5, record 1, English, - bridoon%20bit

A circular building for housing and repairing locomotives. 4, record 2, English, - roundhouse
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
... Today we don not often call the locomotive an "iron horse, "nor do we call the engine-house or roundhouse in which locomotives are kept a stable, but the places in the roundhouse where the locomotives are kept are still called "stalls, "and the roundhouse men who look after the locomotives and take tem in and out of their "stall" are still called "hostlers. "When a locomotive finishes its run, it is usually taken to an engine terminal. At the terminal is the roundhouse, where engines are cleaned and given light or "running" repairs, and made ready for their next runs. The engine terminal also includes a coaling station, a water tank, a sand house, an oil house and an ash pit... The roundhouse is a sort of locomotive garage. its name is derived from its shape. Many roundhouses are semi-circular in shape, many other form a complete circle except for one or two openings for entrance and exit tracks... Long pits between the tracks in the stalls permit inspection and repair of locomotives from underneath... 2, record 2, English, - roundhouse

The IOC Cruise Summary Report is a general purpose form for reporting on measurements and samples collected at sea. It is used to support a global, first level, inventory of data collected at sea and to provide ready access for scientists, programme managers on who has collected what, where and when. 1, record 3, English, - Cruise%20Summary%20Report

ROSCOP (Report of Observations/Samples collected by Oceanographic Programmes) was conceived by IOC in the late 1960s in order to provide a low level inventory for tracking oceanographic data collected on Research Vessels etc. The ROSCOP form was extensively revised in 1990, and was re-named the CSR (Cruise Summary Report), but the name ROSCOP still persists because of its love-hate relationship with many marine scientists. 2, record 3, English, - Cruise%20Summary%20Report

Vertical case loaders. This method of case loading is used primarily in the beverage, glass, can, and plastic container industries, where fragile or irregular-shaped containers require some special packing considerations. As with the horizontal case packers, the product is delivered to the machine infeed conveyor from upstream filling equipment to the accumulator section.... When all lanes are filled in the accumulator area, a formed corrugated case is positioned underneath the loading mechanism ready for depositing. At that point, retractable shifter plates in the accumulator area move out allowing the containers to drop vertically through fingers into the cells of the case... 3, record 5, English, - top%2Dload%20packer

3, record 5, French, - encaisseuse%20verticale
