The mouth bow is the simplest stringed instrument, named so because it indeed takes the form of a small bow upon which a string made of fibre or reed is stretched.... To play it, one end of the string is held between the musician's lips, while it is plucked by the musician or struck with a thin twig. In this way the mouth works as a sound box. By expanding or contracting the oral cavity and by slightly opening the lips, harmonics can be created. Using another stick the player can damp the string, thus shortening it and producing a higher tone. In this way two fundamentals can be produced. 2, record 1, English, - mouth%20bow

While burning with snow on the ground or after a rain event may be safer from a fire safety perspective, it has to be balanced with the concern that materials may be damp and burn inefficiently and could smoulder excessively, creating a potential for nuisance smoke. The presence of fog is also an indicator of poor venting conditions, and burning under these conditions may lead to nuisance smoke. 1, record 2, English, - nuisance%20smoke

MACE [Middeck Active Control Experiment] studies the effects of vibrations on moving structures in space. The results are expected to help engineers design and build lighter, stronger, space structures. The experiment platform is 60 inches(152 cm) long, including four struts and five nodes. Astronauts use a hand control unit to make gimbals and reaction wheels on one side to vibrate while gimbals and wheels on the other side try to damp the vibration. 2, record 3, English, - middeck%20active%20control%20experiment
