The Tall Ships’ Races, formerly known as the "Cutter Sark Tall Ships’ Races, "are long-distance races for sailing ships. The races were originally sponsored by Berry Brothers and Rudd-marketers of Cutty Sark Scotch Whisky(the Cutty Sark being their trademark as well as a preserved tea clipper lying at Greenwich in London). The races are held annually in European waters and consist of two racing legs of several hundred nautical miles, and a "cruise in company" between the legs. The Cutty Sark was in 1869 one of the last sailing clippers to be built, and she is the only classic clipper still surviving. She is now preserved in dry dock at Greenwich in London. Cutty Sark has inspired the name of a brand of whisky. An image of the ship appears on the label, and the maker has sponsored the Cutty Sark Tall Ships’ Race. 1, record 5, English, - Tall%20Ships%27%20Races

1, record 5, French, - Tall%20Ships%27%20Races

The levee has a long tradition in the Canadian Forces as one of the activities associated with New Year's Day. Officers of the various units and headquarters receive and greet in their messes visiting officers and other guests in the convivial spirit of the first day of the new year. Hospitality is dispensed in a variety of forms, from the special flaming punch of the Royal Canadian Hussars of Montreal, a concoction bequeathed to the regiment by the old 1st Motor Machine Gun Brigade and which takes a month to prepare, to the famed Athole Brose, that brew of oatmeal, honey and whisky, of the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada, Vancouver. In line with this tradition, the chief of the defence staff, beginning on 1 January 1975 hosts a levee each New Year's Day in the new National Defence Headquarters at 101 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa. 2, record 17, English, - New%20Year%27s%20levee

Differences in the composition of Polish "Starka" vodka and Russian vodka, due to different technologies, were demonstrated by sensory tests and chemical analyses. Polish "Starka" is a whisky-type vodka, produced from non-rectified rye spirit stored for greater than or equal 10 years in oak barrels. Due to this, the content of acids, esters and tannin matter is about 5 times higher than in the Soviet vodka, also, the fusel oil content is higher and is near to the fusel oil content in whisky. "Starka" production has 3 phases : raw rye spirit production, maturation of the spirit in oak barrels and compounding the matured spirit.(Pascal data base). 2, record 18, English, - matured%20spirits
