[MORN] works to promote, protect and support the spiritual, emotional, physical and mental well being of all Aboriginal women and children in Manitoba and to provide voice, representation and advocacy for Aboriginal women through spiritual, cultural, social, economic, political, educational, and recreational development; provides advocacy and support for Aboriginal women; administers a skills development training and employment fund for urban Aboriginal women; creates and promotes community training and learning initiatives to empower and build individual and community capacity; connects Aboriginal women with culturally relevant healing, training and professional development initiatives [and] organizes workshops and conferences on a wide range of issues impacting Aboriginal women in Manitoba.

Rights & Democracy has been working in Afghanistan since 2002, initially through its Women's Rights in Afghanistan Fund, which supported women's rights education, leadership training for women, capacity building and peace building initiatives, the participation of women in political processes, networking and information sharing, and programmes for gender mainstreaming, with funding from the Canadian International Development Agency(CIDA).
