Recognizing the need of increasing women's representation in political institutions, the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians(CWP) was founded by women delegates at the 1989 plenary CPA [Commonwealth Parliamentary Association] conference so women at future conferences could discuss ways to increase female representation in Parliament and work towards the mainstreaming of gender considerations in all CPA activities and programmes. In 2004, the group was formally recognized in the CPA Constitution... 4, record 2, English, - Commonwealth%20Women%20Parliamentarians

The Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen(French : La Déclaration des droits de l'homme et du citoyen) is one of the fundamental documents of the French Revolution, defining a set of individual rights and collective rights of all of the estates as one. Influenced by the doctrine of natural rights, these rights are universal : they are supposed to be valid in all times and places, pertaining to human nature itself. The last article of the Declaration was adopted on 26 August 1789, by the National Constituent Assembly(Assemblée nationale constituante), as the first step toward writing a constitution. While it set forth fundamental rights, not only for French citizens but for all men without exception, it did not make any statement about the status of women, nor did it explicitly address slavery. 1, record 3, English, - Declaration%20of%20the%20Rights%20of%20Man%20and%20of%20the%20Citizen

1, record 3, French, - D%C3%A9claration%20des%20droits%20de%20l%27homme%20et%20du%20citoyen

In the common law of crime in England a common scold was a species of public nuisance - a troublesome and angry woman who broke the public peace by habitually arguing and quarrelling with her neighbours. 1, record 4, English, - common%20scold
Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The offence of being a common scold has become obsolete in the United States because only women could commit it, contrary to current interpretations of the Equal Protection Clause, and because in any case all crimes must be statutory under current interpretations of the due process clause in the Fourteenth Amendment of the constitution of the United States. Many states have laws or ordinances restricting public profanity, sometimes blasphemy, excessive noise, or verbal disorderly conduct. But such laws all involve statutory crimes; men as well as women can commit the offences, and they do not carry the distinctive punishment reserved for the common scold. 1, record 4, English, - common%20scold
