The log conveyor is a very heavy duty conveyor system which transports logs from the wood yard area to the debarking system. Typically the log conveyor consists of a heavy multi-strand chain with cross bars which the logs rest on.

A small veneer lathe designed to handle shorter peeler block lengths.

The facility stores, debarks, and cuts logs into blocks in the log yard. Three lathes peel the blocks to produce green veneer, with peeler cores and wood chips as by-products. One lathe, the four foot core lathe, is driven by steam.

The Appalachian Dulcimer is a partly fretted member of the zither family. Derived from similar zithers originating in northern Europe ... the instrument joined the "folk-revival" [during the 1950’s].

dulcimer : A plucked folk instrument of uncertain ancestry but with features derived from the German Scheithol and the Swedish hummel, played in the southern Appalachian Mountains of the U. S. It consists of an elongated oval sound box of wood, about a yard long and nine inches wide, on which is mounted a narrow fretted fingerboard.
