2, record 12, French, - jach%C3%A8re%20foresti%C3%A8re

Needleleaf forests and woodlands are dominated by white spruce(Picea glauca) or white spruce mixed with black spruce(P. mariana). The understory typically consists of low woody vegetation, such as white mountain-avens(Dryas octopetala), red-fruit bearberry(Arctostaphylos rubra), arctic willow(Salix arctica), crowberry(Empetrum nigrum), and mountain-cranberry(Vaccinium vitis-idaea). Mosses(for example, Pleurozium schreberi and Rhytidium rugosum) grow in moist depressions. Fruticose lichens(for example, Cetraria spp.) are scattered throughout the understory vegetation mat. 3, record 13, English, - low%20woody%20vegetation

It is important to note that Perrier de la Bâthie's definition of a "forest flora" is an assemblage that includes both woody and herbaceous elements, and thus encompasses several types of woody vegetation--such as shrubland and bushland--which are more open than true forests in the strict sense. 2, record 14, English, - forest%20flora
