The Agenda for First Nations and Inuit Mental Health was completed, in June 1991, by a committee consisting of representatives from the Assembly of First Nations Health Commission, several First Nations and a Labrador Inuit community, as well as senior officials from Health Canada and Indian and Northern Affairs. Most of the diplomatic work on chemical and biological weapons was conducted within the Eighteen Nations Disarmament Committee(ENDC), a body established in Geneva in 1961 with responsibility for conducting multilateral disarmament negotiations. The membership of this body was later enlarged several times, and its name was consequently changed, first to the Conference of the Committee on Disarmament(CCD), then to the Committee on Disarmament and, finally, to the Conference on Disarmament(CD).

CGIT(Canadian Girls in Training) is an interdenominational Christian group for girls, ages 12 to 17. It was founded in 1915, with support from the YMCA, and served Anglican, Baptist, Presbyterian, and Methodist churches. In the early years, it was administered by the interdenominational Religious Education Council. By the 1950s, it fell under the Canadian Council of Churches’ Department of Christian Education. The Department's national CGIT Committee is complemented by provincial CGIT boards and local CGIT committees. The provincial board was known as the BC Provincial Girls’ Work Board until 1959, and thereafter as the BC Provincial CGIT Board. CGIT on the BC mainland ceased in 1996 but continues on Vancouver Island.

La Division du système de soins de santé (DSSS) assure l'analyse et l'élaboration de politiques concernant les questions qui ont trait au renouvellement élargi du système de santé, comme les transferts fiscaux, la gouvernance et la reddition de compte, l'innovation et la productivité dans les soins de santé, et concernant les rôles des secteurs public et privé et leurs relations. En outre, elle assure la coordination et le leadership en matière de politiques à la Direction des politiques de soins de santé relativement aux questions horizontales comme le suivi de la mise en œuvre des ententes entre les premiers ministres, la production de rapports sur le rendement et la recherche. De plus, la Division fournit un soutien administratif au Comité consultatif fédéral-provincial-territorial (FPT) sur la gouvernance et la responsabilité. Enfin, la Division élabore des plans stratégiques pour Santé Canada en matière de soins de santé et coordonne le travail du Ministère sur les questions relatives aux soins de santé.

Largely in response to worries about the low abundance of blue whales in the Southern Hemisphere, particularly in view of their protection since the mid-1960s, a research programme for large baleen whales was developed by the Scientific Committee. The International Whaling Commission has subsequently approved the objectives and sequence of work suggested and has now established a major new Southern Ocean Whale and Ecosystem Research(SOWER) programme. To support the Gender Equality Initiative and help co-ordinate work related to gender equality across the Department, the office of the Senior Advisor has begun a program to broaden Department-wide expertise and understanding of gender equality analysis, through education and the development of analytical approaches. The Advisor is supported by a network of over 50 gender equality specialists who ensure the application of gender equality analysis in their fields. The Advisor also benefits from the contribution of the Advisory Committee on Gender Equality on issues relating to raising awareness in the Department regarding gender equality. The new Policy of the Department of Justice on Gender Equality Analysis was released in June, 1997. A guide to Gender Equality Analysis, entitled Diversity and Justice : Gender Perspectives, was released in August, 1998.

The Committee on Trade and Investment(CTI) was established by the Declaration on an APEC [Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation] Trade and Investment Framework in November 1993. The CTI coordinates APEC' s work on the liberalization and facilitation of trade and investment(refer to the Bogor Declaration 1994). It works to reduce impediments to business activity in 15 specific areas as outlined in the Osaka Action Agenda(OAA) : tariffs and non-tariff measures; services; investment; standards and conformance; customs procedures; intellectual property rights; competition policy; government procurement; deregulation; rules of origin; dispute mediation; mobility of business people; and implementation of WTO obligations. CTI also provides a forum for discussion of trade policy issues.
