Historically, smelling salts contained ammonium carbonate and perfume; modern preparations typically consist of ammonia dissolved in water and ethanol, sometimes infused with a scented oil, such as eucalyptus. The salts release ammonia gas that irritates the nose and lung membranes, triggering an inhalation reflex, which prompts the muscles that control breathing to work faster and helps restore oxygen flow to the brain and body. 6, record 2, English, - smelling%20salts

The motion of free-floating space robots is characterized by non-holonomic constraints, i.e., non-integrable rate constraint equations. These constraints originate from the principles of conservation of angular momentum. It is well known that these rate constraints can also be written to form an input-affine drift-less control system. Trajectory planning of these systems is extremely challenging and computation intensive since the motion must satisfy differential constraints. Under certain conditions, these drift-less control systems can be shown to be differentially flat. 1, record 5, English, - free%2Dfloating%20space%20robot

To date, most of the research on the control of space robots has centered on "free-floating" robots. Free-floating robots are defined as space robots where the satellite base position and orientation are unactuated. Without base actuation, no external forces or torques act upon the system when the end-effector is not in contact with the work environment. The linear and angular momenta of the system are conserved, so the spacecraft base moves in reaction to commanded arm motion. 2, record 5, English, - free%2Dfloating%20space%20robot

Space telerobotics is an inherently complex task, requiring mental visualization skills, fine motor visualization skills, fine motor control, and adhering to procedure and flight rules. Often space telerobotics is accomplished only using video views of the work area, so the robotic arm operator must interpret two dimensional images to create a 3D [three-dimensional] mental model of the environment and their position inside it, all the while being aware of arm kinematics and limitations, avoiding collisions, and following procedural flight rules. To add to the workload, they also control the arm in six degrees of freedom, using separate rotational and translational hand controls, where the movement axes are frequently not aligned with camera views(e. g., the operator views the scene backwards or upside down). 1, record 6, English, - space%20telerobotics

1, record 6, Spanish, - telerrob%C3%B3tica%20espacial

Researchers identify coercive controlling violence by the pattern of power and control in which it is embedded... The Power and Control Wheel... provides a useful graphical representation of the major forms of control that constitute coercive controlling violence : intimidation; emotional abuse; isolation; minimizing, denying, and blaming; use of children; asserting male privilege; economic abuse; and coercion and threats... Abusers do not necessarily use all of these tactics, but they do use a combination of the ones that they feel are most likely to work for them. Because these nonviolent control tactics may be effective without the use of violence(especially if there has been a history of violence in the past), coercive controlling violence does not necessarily manifest itself in high levels of violence. 3, record 9, English, - coercive%20controlling%20violence

Quick Facts :Work on the Lakeshore East Line is part of a larger, system-wide plan to improve overall GO Transit service, including the delivery of GO Regional Express Rail by 2024-25. To support transit improvements, Metrolinx will be undertaking major infrastructure upgrades, including additional track, GO station modifications, improved rail crossings, required systems for electrification, and new locomotives and train control systems to enable more frequent service. The province is investing $21. 3 billion to transform the GO rail network from a commuter transit system to a regional rapid transit system. The project is being delivered as a build finance(BF) contract using Infrastructure Ontario's Alternative Financing and Procurement(AFP) model, which transfers risks associated with construction and financing of the project to the private sector. 1, record 13, English, - build%20finance%20contract

1, record 13, French, - contrat%20construction%20financement

Mold makers create, adjust, and adapt the molds used in cast manufacturing. Most frequently, tool and machine parts manufacturers are the employers for mold makers. Mold makers typically work with specifications from a design team, and they need to know how to work from schematics and be familiar with computer-aided design(CAD) programs for this purpose. The mold maker then creates initial molds. Upon the successful completion of production runs and quality control for parts from the casting, the maker then puts the mold into the production cycle. Mold makers often work with existing parts, making necessary adjustments to existing molds and conforming existing molds to new product specifications. 4, record 26, English, - mouldmaker

Industrial safety engineers are most concerned with the way in which a production process is carried out, with a heavy focus on the safety of people and machines during manufacturing. This type of industrial engineering involves the development and monitoring of safe production systems and the assessment and correction of risky work situations, such as hazardous exposures and employee accidents. An industrial safety engineer plans strategies to control work flow safely, creates and communicates these plans to others, and assesses the success of these organizational goals. 2, record 34, English, - industrial%20safety%20engineer

4, record 59, French, - conservation%20de%20l%27environnement

The analysis should include the sexual/gender division of labour, the types of work done, access to and control of resources and benefits, and some indication of change over time and influencing factors. 3, record 76, English, - gender%20analysis

The permissible limit for inhalation of a radionuclide is the appropriate ALI [annual limit of intake]. This is given in units of activity, Bq. Because it is often easier to measure and control the concentration of radioactvity in the air than to measure or control the intake, the ALIs are used to calculate the Derived Air Concentrations(DACs). The Derived Air Concentration, or DAC for any radionuclide, is that concentration in air, expressed in Bq/m³ which, if worked in for a year(50 weeks of 40 hours each for a total of 2000 hours per year), would result in the ALI for inhalation. The normal breathing rate, based on Reference Man, is 2, 400 m³ per year at work.
