Butterfly valves are among the family of quarter-turn valves and work very similar to ball valves. The "butterfly" is a disk connected to a rod. It closes when the rod rotates the disc by a quarter turn to a position perpendicular to the flow direction... When the valve opens, the disk is rotated back to allow the flow. 5, record 1, English, - butterfly%20valve

Most modern single-wheeled and two-wheeled tractors can be equipped with a cutter-bar which is useful for tidying up small areas of land where weeds grow, as well as for more straightforward work on long grass. Reciprocating knife mowers are engine driven and are also self-propelled. Usually the cutting mechanism operates as soon as the engine is started but forward movement is started by a hand-operated clutch. All rotating disc mowers have engine powered cutting mechanisms but only the larger machines are self-propelled. Pedestrian-operated machines have a 6 to 7. 5 kW engine which drives the flails by means of vee belts and the land wheels by chain and sprockets through a gearbox. 1, record 3, English, - motor%20mower

Two major types of continuous refiners are used for stock preparation :disc refiners and conical refiners. The conical refiners can be further differentiated into low-angle types(Jordans) and high-angle types(Claflins).... In conical refiners, the rotating plug(rotor) and its housing(stator) are fitted with metal bars oriented lengthwise. The fibers flow parallel to the bars. The position of the plug determines the clearance of the bars and controls the amount of work done on the fibers for a constant stock throughput. 1, record 6, English, - Claflin%20refiner

1, record 6, French, - raffineur%20Claflin
