CGIT(Canadian Girls in Training) is an interdenominational Christian group for girls, ages 12 to 17. It was founded in 1915, with support from the YMCA, and served Anglican, Baptist, Presbyterian, and Methodist churches. In the early years, it was administered by the interdenominational Religious Education Council. By the 1950s, it fell under the Canadian Council of Churches’ Department of Christian Education. The Department's national CGIT Committee is complemented by provincial CGIT boards and local CGIT committees. The provincial board was known as the BC Provincial Girls’ Work Board until 1959, and thereafter as the BC Provincial CGIT Board. CGIT on the BC mainland ceased in 1996 but continues on Vancouver Island.

The Prince Edward Island Eco-Net de l'ÎLe du-Prince-Edourd(PEIEN) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental network of groups on Prince Edward Island who care about our environment. The organization was originally formed in 1991 and was formally incorporated as a co-operative in 2000. The PEIEN is non-advocacy and thus does not take stands on particular issues. Instead, we try to help our member groups with the work they do through the sharing of information and provision of administrative and technical support.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the provincial BC Land Use Coordination Office work together to address developmental and environmental planning for the land and the nearshore waters of the Central Coast Region. For this purpose, the Central Coast Region extends from Cape Caution to Princess Royal Island, and includes the area on the mainland south to Bute Inlet, as well as the adjacent waters to the high tide mark on Vancouver Island.
