Abstract.... Pressurised light Water Reactor(PWR) are the most common nuclear reactors used today. It is necessary for each neutronic code to be validated for this type of reactor. The goal of this work is to create a complete calculation scheme which can be applied to the evolution of the core of a pressurised light water nuclear reactor using the lattice code DRAGON and the reactor code DONJON. Each step of this scheme will be validated by comparisons with other codes or with experimental results. The unit cell calculation will be computed for a benchmark … The assembly calculations will be used to compare the results given by DRAGON, APOLLO2 and MCNP [codes] for an assembly used by EDF [Électricité de France] for code testing. The core calculations will show that the codes DRAGON and DONJON can produce accurate macroscopic results for a real core.

My copygraphic prints are artworks related to the so-called "new images, "generated through photo-electronic technologies. I synthesized them by projecting intense light perturbations through glass debris in a color laser photocopy machine. I work to extend its possibilities beyond those known. In short, it could be described as [the projection of] an evanescent sculpture... Usually titled using the term "scan, "my copygraphies are to art what tomography is to neurology : slices with no thickness, but with deep implications. Abstract textures obtained have an evocative power different than for figuration : they pull to [the] surface subconscious states. This art goes to the heart and is an invitation to relax through its imagination freeing abstraction.

Assystem City Car... is remarkably easy to park, and not only because of its compact dimensions(3. 60 m long, 1. 60 m wide and 1. 60 m tall), or its light weight(only 600 kg), but also because it has three axles, a central one, with two wheels, and one wheel in each extreme of the car(front and end). These single wheel axles are the ones responsible for moving and turning the Assystem City Car. The front wheel is powered by an electrical engine with 20 kW(about 27 cv), which can push the car to 50 km/h of top speed and has 30 km of autonomy, basically what regular people need to go to work and back home every day. For the roads, there is a little combustion engine that delivers 60 cv in the rear axle. It can lead the vehicle to a top speed of 130 km/h and, with its 30 l fuel tank, can carry the Assystem City Car to up to 600 km. Both engines can be used together, what turns this car into a hybrid. This vehicle, albeit small, can carry up to five people and their luggage. It has a low gravity center, what enhances dynamics, its oval shape prevents serious accident consequences and, when visibility is low, a screen takes the place of the regular windshield and shows the driver infrared images of the road, guiding him/her safely to destination.

Alenia Aeronautica and Targetti have realized a simulator which is able to reproduce the lighting conditions present when flying at an altitude of 10000 meters, inside a real airplane.... In fact, being able to realistically reproduce natural light opens the way to potentially infinite applications : from the assessment of architectural models to studying the lighting "behavior" of materials and surfaces, to various design requirements, including aircraft instrumentation legibility tests at high quotas, which has been the particular focus of the work carried out by Alenia and Targetti. According to international regulations, aeronautical instrumentation displays, especially those of military aircraft with transparent cockpits, must be approved by tests which involve actually flying the airplane in order to assess performance in real lighting conditions. The costs and risks are obvious as is the value of creating a system which can recreate the light conditions of an aircraft in flight while it is still on the ground.

The typical particle counter for metering the amount of particulate matter in clean work station air is an optical assembly. Air is drawn into and through the optical subassembly of the particle counter until a pre-set volume of air has been seen. A few parts of the house deserve particular attention... around doors and windows... where the wood-frame wall meets the masonry... around doors into unheated attic... There is an easy way to tell whether or not any of the above areas need work.... make yourself a draft gauge. All you need is a metal clothes hanger, a plastic sandwich bag(or a piece of light tissue paper), a pair of scissors and two clothes pins. Cut the sandwich bag down each side and wrap one end over the cross-bar of the clothes hanger. Use the clothes pins to fasten the bag to the bar. Check for drafts, on a cold day, in all suspected areas. Hold the gauge steady by the handle of the hanger with the plastic bag close to the suspected areas. If any breeze is coming in, the movement of the plastic will show you where.

Diffusion filters produce "soft" images and tend to flare bright areas of a scene into dark areas(...) There are several different types of diffusion filters on the market.(...) some contain wavy criss cross patterns, and some have concentric circles lightly etched into them. They all work in basically the same way, though. The plain areas of the diffusion filter allow the light to go straight through, forming a normal sharp image on the film.
