Pre-design research had indicated that part of the turnover problem was caused by "job shock. "Applicants were told about job requirements and given a tour of the Wafer Fab before completing the employment process. However, the nature of the work in a "clean room" and the special clothing required was so foreign to the typical entry-level applicant that, although they thought they would be able to adjust to the conditions, many found they didn’t like the job once they had worked in it for a few days. Some people left after lunch on the first day. Others only lasted for a few days. 2, record 1, English, - job%20shock

Because of the way that enzymes work, there is a limit to the amount of a substrate that a single enzyme can process in a given time. If the concentration of substrate is increased, the rate at which product is formed also increases up to a maximum value. At that point the enzyme molecule is saturated with substrate, and the rate of reaction depends only on how rapidly the substrate molecule can be processed. This rate is expressed as a turnover number, which for many enzymes is in the range of 1000 substrate molecules per second. 1, record 2, English, - saturate
