The Alpine Skiing World Cup is a circuit of alpine skiing competitions regulated by the FIS. Held at ski resorts across Europe, the continental US, and Canada, competitors compete to achieve the best time in four disciplines : Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super-G, and Downhill. After every race, points are awarded to the top 30 athletes-The athlete with the most points at the end of the season wins the cup. "Quad" is really short for "quadruplet" which means "a combination of four of a kind" (Webster’s Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary).
