The concept of "sustainable development" was first used in the mid-1970s, to suggest a broad policy goal of integrating environmental considerations into economic decisions. In 1980, the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources(IUCN), in conjunction with UNEP [United Nations Environment Programme], the World Wildlife fund(WWF), and other organisations, published the World Conservation Strategy(WCS). In the WCS, the current and more complex implication of sustainable development emerged to imply, for example, operational linkages between resource use and sustainable yields, in light of the needs of future generations. 2, record 2, English, - World%20Conservation%20Strategy
