The flagship urban-development project of the NCC in the last several decades has been Confederation Boulevard-the Capital' s ceremonial and discovery route. In collaboration with federal and municipal partners, the NCC designed and constructed this 7. 5-kilometre route around the heart of Canada's Capital Region. Aside from providing an elegant streetscape for some of the most important sites and institutions of the nation, the Boulevard is a focus for year-round national celebrations, events and interpretation programs that help people to discover important aspects of Canada's government, culture, heritage, landscape and relations with other nations of the world. The idea for a ceremonial route in the heart of the Capital goes back to the 19th century. However, it was not until 1967-centennial year-that planners began to talk about a ceremonial route for processions and state visits, as a unifying element in the core areas of Ottawa, Ontario, and Hull(now Gatineau), Quebec, and as a vehicle for communicating the Capital of Canadians. Planning began in 1982 and construction in 1985. The central part of Confederation Boulevard was officially opened by Prime Minister Jean Chrétien on June 30, 2000. The last phase of three-phase construction will be completed in 2006. 1, record 12, English, - Confederation%20Boulevard

World Evangelical Alliance is a global ministry working with local churches around the world to join in common concern to live and proclaim the Good News of Jesus in their communities. WEA is a network of churches in 127 nations that have each formed an evangelical alliance and over 100 international organizations joining together to give a worldwide identity, voice and platform to more than 420 million evangelical Christians. Seeking holiness, justice and renewal at every level of society-individual, family, community and culture, God is glorified and the nations of the earth are forever transformed. Christians from ten countries met in London in 1846 for the purpose of launching, in their own words, "a new thing in church history, a definite organization for the expression of unity amongst Christian individuals belonging to different churches. "This was the beginning of a vision that was fulfilled in 1951 when believers from 21 countries officially formed the World Evangelical Fellowship. 1, record 29, English, - World%20Evangelical%20Alliance

This is "four-on-four" play, with no goaltenders and plenty of action! All games are outdoors on a lake which is home to 24 ice surfaces. This means that many teams can play simultaneously for an exciting three days. Nothing like this exists anywhere else in the world. ALARA is an acronym for the phrase As Low As Reasonably Achievable. It is most often used in reference to chemical or radiation exposure levels.... ALARA is not simply a phrase, but a work principle, a mindset, a culture of professional excellence. In an ideal world, one could reduce his exposure to hazardous materials to zero. In reality, reducing an exposure to zero is not always possible; certain social, technical, economic, practical, or public policy considerations will result in a small but acceptable level of risk. Participants log in to the Canadian national computer packet network, Datapac, to gain access to the SciLink host computer in Toronto. Most cities in Canada have local phone access to Datapac. SciLink is also available via the Internet, a network of networks connecting educational institutions around the world. Participating schools are organized into triads with a wide geographic dispersion, with each triad hosted by a Native, Aboriginal or First Nations classroom. Students interactively conduct research about their other two triad members under headings such as Health, Environment, Language and Culture, History, Education, Economics, and Politics. 1, record 47, French, - Les%20enfants%20du%20Kanata
