Placekicking is the phase of the kicking game that you’ll use when your team attempts to score a point after touchdown (PAT) or kicking a field goal; your team will attempt a field goal if the drive has been stopped and the team is close enough to the opponent’s goal line. ... During this phase of the kicking game, three players use special techniques: the kicker (who makes the kick), the holder (who catches the ball from the center and places it on the tee), and the center, (also known as the short snapper (who centers the ball back to the holder). 4, record 2, English, - kicking%20game

Parallel slalom is all about carving, so hard boots and plate bindings are used with a rigid board which can cut through the snow and give a stable and faster ride. To cut down on air resistance, riders lean into the turns and wear skin-tight suits. Most wear knee-height shin guards as they often hit the gates as they pass them, and helmets protect the head. 3, record 6, English, - parallel%20slalom

The Alpine Skiing World Cup is a circuit of alpine skiing competitions regulated by the FIS. Held at ski resorts across Europe, the continental US, and Canada, competitors compete to achieve the best time in four disciplines : Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super-G, and Downhill. After every race, points are awarded to the top 30 athletes-The athlete with the most points at the end of the season wins the cup. Sub-prizes are also awarded for athletes with the most point totals in each individual race discipline. The World Cup is held every year, and is considered the premier competition for alpine ski racing after the tetrannual Winter Olympics. Many consider the World Cup to be a more valuable title than the Olympics or the biannual World Championships, since it requires a competitor to ski at an extremely high level in several disciplines throughout the season(and not just in one race). 1, record 7, English, - Alpine%20Skiing%20World%20Cup

1, record 7, French, - Coupe%20du%20monde%20du%20ski%20alpin

The "World Men's Curling Championship"(singular because only one men's team is crowned champion) is named after the sponsor of the event or the trophy given. The World Men's Curling Championship began in 1959 as a competition between the Canadian and Scottish national champions for the "Scotch Cup"(1959-1967). The event became the "Air Canada Silver Broom" or simply the "Silver Broom"(or "Air Canada Silver Broom World Curling Championship, ""Air Canada World Curling Championship, "or "Silver Broom World Curling Championship") from 1968 to 1985, years during which the Silver Broom Trophy was given to the winner. Different sponsors or the lack of a main sponsor account for the following names :"Hexagon World Curling Championships" from 1986 to 1988, "World Curling Championships" in 1989 and 1990, "Canada Safeway World Curling Championships" in 1991 and 1992, again the "World Curling Championships" in 1993 and 1994, and the "Ford World Curling Championships" since 1995. 1, record 10, English, - World%20Men%27s%20Curling%20Championships

The expression "World Men’s Curling Championship" is singular when only one champion is crowned, which was the case for the curling competition from 1959 to 1978. Since 1979, the plural form "World Curling Championships" is used because the same competition determines the winner in the men’s, senior men’s, women’s and senior women’s categories; this generic designation was and will be used every time no official sponsor gives its name to the event. Nevertheless, "World Men’s Curling Championship" is still appropriate to distinguish the men’s event inside the "World Curling Championships.". 1, record 10, English, - World%20Men%27s%20Curling%20Championships

1, record 10, French, - Championnats%20du%20monde%20de%20curling%20masculin

The greatest of the international soccer competitions representing world supremacy in the sport. It is open to any country that is affiliated with FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), and the finals are played every four years, between the Summer Olympic Games’ years. The competition is essentially open, but each nation is generally represented by its best professional players. The entries (more than 100) are reduced to 14 teams by a series of regional play-offs; along with the defending champions and the host country, they make up the final 16. The final rounds are played in the host country over a period of about three weeks. There are two versions of how the name originated. The first is that after one of the team’s big victories a certain newspaper had intended to have as its headline ALL BACKS; intimating that the forwards were playing like backs; but a typographical error actually gave the headline as ’ALL BLACKS’. The other, and the one to which I incline, is that the name originated with the London ’Daily Mail’ Rugby writer, J A Buttery, who in a paper-back issued after the tour, ’Why the All Blacks Triumphed’; said that he began referring to the team as All Blacks because of the colour of their uniform. 4, record 27, English, - All%20Blacks
