The results is an international dialogue on Canada poised to break traditional communication barriers.

The Inter-Parliamentary Union(IPU) is the world organization of parliaments of sovereign States. It was established in 1889. The Union is the focal point for world-wide parliamentary dialogue and works for peace and co-operation among peoples and for the firm establishment of representative democracy. The IPU supports the efforts of the United Nations, whose objectives it shares, and works in close co-operation with it. It also co-operates with regional inter-parliamentary organizations, as well as with international intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations which are motivated by the same ideals. Over a hundred national parliaments are currently members of the IPU. The IPU is financed by its members out of public funds. The site of the Union's Headquarters is in Geneva, Switzerland.

Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, or APEC, is the premier forum for facilitating economic growth, cooperation, trade and investment in the Asia-Pacific region. APEC is the only intergovernmental grouping in the world operating on the basis of non-binding commitments, open dialogue and equal respect for the views of all participants. Unlike the WTO or other multilateral trade bodies, APEC has no treaty obligations required of its participants. Decisions made within APEC are reached by consensus and commitments are undertaken on a voluntary basis.

The Earth Sciences Sector(ESS) of Natural Resources Canada is committed to increasing its involvement in strengthening the capacity of developing countries. For decades, Canada has worked in partnership with developing countries in applying geomatics and geoscience technologies to address a wide variety of important economic, environmental and social issues. This effort has led to immproved capabilities of these countries to achieve sustainable development and better living conditions, while fostering long-term relationships between Canada and the developing world. To allow Canada and ESS to build on many successful technology transfer projects and to seek out new partnerships, ESS is launching a new initiative called The Earth Sciences International Capacity Development Centre. Une fois par an, le Comité du tourisme de l'OCDE réunit des décideurs de haut niveau dans le domaine du tourisme pour débattre des principales évolutions intéressant ce secteur, prendre des initiatives en fonction des besoins, réunir des éléments d'information sur les politiques et contribuer aux travaux menés dans d'autres secteurs de l'OCDE. Il prend des initiatives lorsque cela est nécessaire. Le Comité du tourisme de l'OCDE coopère aussi avec l'Organisation mondiale du tourisme, l'Union européenne, et le Bureau international du travail. Il engage le dialogue avec des pays non membres et offre un cadre pour l'organisation de consultations et des séminaires entre les représentants du secteur du tourisme, les universitaires et d'autres groupes.

Since its official formation in 1972, the organization has actively promoted the sustainable management of water resources around the globe. The world is a much smaller place today than when IWRA began its work due to advancing technologies and global social changes. The belief that sustainability requires interdisciplinary action and international cooperation is a driving force behind the association. IWRA seeks to improve water resource outcomes by improving our collective understanding of the physical, biological, chemical, institutional, and socioeconomic aspects of water.

The Culture in the Neighbourhood project places emphasis on social integration and participation at the local level. It consists of cultural activities which the residents of a neighbourhood carry out through their own efforts. Additionally, it uses culture as a means of fostering dialogue and interaction between Africa and Europe. Conceptualized during the World Decade on Cultural Development(1988-1997), the Culture in the Neighbourhood project has been initiated and coordinated by the Swiss National Commission for UNESCO.

Trade with these countries operates under different conditions than that with other parts of the world, due to the nature of the state-trading system. Although the situation varies significantly from country to country, market access is considered to be generally more difficult and more complex than in western markets.... The rules of the international trading system apply only imperfectly to these countries; for instance, the price formation mechanisms in state-trading countries make price calculations difficult for customs valuation and anti-dumping purposes.... Because of the overriding role played by governments in these countries in trade, it has proved useful to establish a dialogue at governmental level with these countries.
