The Canadian CIP [cataloguing in Publication] Programme is coordinated by the National Library of Canada and is operated through a network of agent libraries across the country who provide CIP services to the publishers in their respective areas... The distinguishing feature of Cataloguing in Publication is that the catalogue record is created and disseminated prior to publication and is printed in the book itself... The CIP catalogue record is a brief description of a publication. It includes information(such as author(s), title, series title, subject headings, ISBN, ISSN and classification numbers) that is used by book buyers, readers and researchers to identify and locate publications. The record is created and arranged according to internationally established standards which make it possible to distribute information about publications throughout the world. 1, record 9, English, - National%20Library%20of%20Canada%20Cataloguing%20in%20Publication

Notice of certain facts that may be discovered by diligence or inquiry into a public record; a legal presumption that a person is responsible for knowing these facts. The proper recording of a document gives constructive notice to the world of the document's existence and contents. Possession of property also imparts constructive notice of the rights of the party in possession. Examples of rights of parties in possession would be rights under an unrecorded deed, contract for deed, lease-option, and rights of adverse possession. Constructive notice is also referred to as legal notice, in contrast to actual notice, which is express or direct knowledge acquired in the course of a transaction.(Reilly, 2nd ed., 1982, p. 100). 1, record 14, English, - constructive%20notice

All of these verbs not only are more or less of the same meaning in the world of tennis, they are all transitive verbs. For intransitive verbs, see "win". In Spanish, the generic verb "superar" can often mean "to beat", "to defeat", as well as "to surpass", "to go beyond", "to get through" and "to overcome"(el tenista superó(batió) el récord mundial). Nonetheless it is always used transitively. The Spanish verb "ganar", unlike its intransitive equivalent in English(i. e. win) can become an indirect transitive verb and in so doing takes on the additional meaning of defeating or beating. To rout is to defeat decisively. 3, record 15, English, - defeat

Presentation markup is markup language that encodes information about the desired presentation or layout of the content. For example, Cascading Style Sheets can be used to control fonts, colors, aural rendering, and graphical positioning. Presentation markup should not be used in place of structural markup to convey structure. For example, authors should mark up lists in HTML with proper list markup and style them with CSS (e.g., to control spacing, bullets, numbering, etc.). Authors should not use other CSS or HTML incorrectly to lay out content graphically so that it resembles a list. 1, record 26, English, - numbering

The values produced by the animation are written into an override stylesheet for that element, which may be obtained using the getOverrideStyle method. In 1916, Sir Max Aitken, Lord Beaverbrook, a Canadian who had settled in England, took it upon himself to form a committee that would oversee the creation of an official pictorial record of Canada's effort in the First World War, to be known as the Canadian War Memorials. A similar undertaking was initiated by H. O. McCurry, the director of the National Gallery of Canada from 1939 to 1955, to record the Canadian military presence in the Second World War, resulting in what would be known as the Canadian War Records Collection. A monumental building to house the two war collections, designed by the British architect E. A. Rickards, was also proposed, but the ambitious project was never realized. By 1950 the combined collections from the two wars numbered over 5, 000 works. The majority of them were transferred to the Canadian War Museum in 1971. 2, record 31, English, - Canadian%20War%20Records%20Collection

The strategy considered for integrating respective functionality with other XML-based languages is based on the concepts of modularization and profiling SMIL-MOD, XMOD. Modularization is an approach in which markup functionality is specified as a set of modules that contain semantically-related XML elements, attributes, and attribute values. Profiling is the creation of an XML-based language through combining these modules, in order to provide the functionality required by a particular application. 1, record 41, English, - modularization

La stratégie prise en compte pour intégrer des fonctionnalités respectives avec d'autres langages basés sur XML est fondée sur les concepts de modularisation et de profilage SMIL-MOD, XMOD. The modern world is full of large data sets : census data, multimedia databases, and remote sensing data, to name a few. With the aid of computers it is possible to collect scientific data on a grand scale. These examples are not "large" merely because they have many data points. They are also high dimensional, meaning that there are many measurements taken of each person, multimedia object, or point on the ground. The "data point" representing one person is made up of their age, gender, educational level, occupation, and whatever else was recorded. Suppose there are 12 attributes recorded for each person. Statement A specific resource together with a named property plus the value of that property for that resource is an RDF statement. These three individual parts of a statement are called, respectively, the subject, the predicate, and the object. The object of a statement (i.e., the property value) can be another resource or it can be a literal; i.e., a resource (specified by a URI) or a simple string or other primitive datatype defined by XML. In RDF terms, a literal may have content that is XML markup but is not further evaluated by the RDF processor. When a resource represents a reified statement; that is, it has an RDF:type property with a value of RDF:Statement, then that resource must have exactly one RDF:subject property, one RDF:object property, and one RDF:predicate property. It is frequently necessary to represent a collection of resources or literals; for example to state that a property has an ordered sequence of values. 1, record 99, English, - reified%20statement
