WEA is a network of churches in 127 nations that have each formed an evangelical alliance and over 100 international organizations joining together to give a worldwide identity, voice and platform to more than 420 million evangelical Christians. Seeking holiness, justice and renewal at every level of society-individual, family, community and culture, God is glorified and the nations of the earth are forever transformed. Christians from ten countries met in London in 1846 for the purpose of launching, in their own words, "a new thing in church history, a definite organization for the expression of unity amongst Christian individuals belonging to different churches. The Agriculture and Food Council was formed in 1993 to champion the Creating Tomorrow vision and goals. Made up of representatives from all links in the agri-food industry value-chain the Council is a catalyst to help Alberta's agri-food sector : Increase Alberta's share of world food, agriculture and agribusiness markets; Improve sustainable resource and environmental management; and Expand the vision, competency and quality of life of people in the industry. The AFC has three core programs to support their goals : The Canada Agriculture Rural Adaptation Fund(CARD), The Value Chain Strategic Initiative, and Growing Alberta-a public awareness program. Funding is provided to AFC from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's $60 million per year Canadian Adaptation and Rural Development(CARD) Fund. Le Agriculture and Food Council (AFC) a vu le jour en 1993 et a reçu pour mandat de réaliser la vision et les objectifs de Creating Tomorrow. Out of this initial success, a group of children dedicated to saving the tropical rain forest formed Barnens Regnskog, "Children's Rain Forest" in Swedish. The vision took hold, and soon other group organized to lend a hand : The Children's Rainforest(United States), Children's Tropical Forests(United Kingdom), Nippon Kodomo no Jungle(Japan). As the spirit sweeps across other lands, more groups are forming and individual contributions arrive from other far corners of the globe.
