The Train to Win stage(females 18+, males 19+) is the final stage of the LTAD [Long-Term Athlete Development] high-performance stream. Medals and podium performances are the primary focus. In the Train to Win stage of LTAD, athletes with identified talent pursue high-intensity training to win international events. They are now full-time athletes. The previous LTAD stages have developed and optimized the skills, tactics, and ancillary capacities of each athlete. Athletes have now realized their full genetic potential. They must now train to maximize and maintain their competitive performance at the highest level. The Geomatics Professional Development Program, International(GPDPI) provides non-Canadian geomatics professionals with the opportunity to develop their skills in a world-class geomatics organization. The Earth Sciences Sector(ESS) of Natural Resources Canada works with Canadian industry and conducts research in the following areas; remote sensing, Geographic Information Systems(GIS), the Global Positioning System(GPS), maps and charts, surveying, and geological sciences. Geomatics professionals are an integral part of each of these efforts. As a participant in the GPDPI, you will work alongside leaders in the geomatics field to complete a six-month project, tailored to suit your needs and learning goals. The GPDPI offers structured training in the field of geomatics through a curriculum designed to develop technical and managerial skills.
