Superconducting magnets are manufactured by winding turns of superconducting material, in the form of layers of conductor, insulator, and a support material, on a mandrel to form pancake coils that are stacked on one another to form a completed magnet winding. The superconducting material is typically formed into a flat band of material that has limited flexibility and low structural strength. To efficiently wind the flat superconductor and get the end leads located on the outside of the coils for electrical termination, the coils are often wound in pairs from the inside to the outside which requires a winding transition portion at the inside that connects to each coil in the pair. This forms what is called a "double pancake" assembly. 1, record 7, English, - winding%20transition

1, record 7, French, - transition%20du%20bobinage

The rotating-vane-type viscosity measuring element depends upon the drag on a rotating member in contact with the material whose viscosity is to be measured. The vane or rotating element is driven by a synchronous electrical motor. The torque required to rotate the member of the vane is measured and is proportional to the viscosity in contact with the rotating element. The synchronous motor drives the cage at a constant speed. The upper spindle arm is coupled to the cage through a calibrated beryllium-copper spring. During measurement, the spring is wound up until its force exactly equals the viscous drag on the spindle; then the cage and spindle continue to operate at the same speed, but with a definite angular relationship to each other proportional to the torque on the spring. 4, record 15, English, - rotating%20spindle%20apparatus%20for%20measuring%20viscosity

1, record 15, French, - viscosim%C3%A8tre%20rotatif

To limit the weight and yet to maintain the three layers, it was decided to use a total thickness of 0. 36 m, which results in a mattress weight of 5000 tonnes. 1, record 20, English, - filter%20mattress
