English

Subject field(s)
  • Commercial Fishing
CONT

You can make these traps simply by tying branches, sticks, brush etc. into bundles and either placing them flat or upright on the bottom or suspending them in the water. Fish and crustaceans sheltering in the brush trap can be caught by quickly lifting the bundles from the water. The bundles can be put in the centre of a woven basket to catch fish that try to escape when the trap is lifted. Alternatively, you can put a dip net under the bundles while you are lifting them

English

Subject field(s)
  • Hair Styling
CONT

The technique [of hair weaving] involves taking a small hairpiece-a very fine net with false hair attached to it, placing the net against the scalp, and weaving together the false hair with what real, natural hair remains growing on the man's scalp. It is much like weaving a basket. And it is woven very, very tightly, and as close as possible to the scalp.

French

Domaine(s)

CONT

CONT

Biodegradable geotextiles are deliberately manufactured to have a relatively short life. Their purpose is to prevent rain-splash erosion of soil until vegetation can become properly established on the ground surface.... Jute nets are marketed under various trade names, including Geojute.... they are usually in the from of a woven net with apertures in the region of 15x15 mm, a thickness of about 5 mm, and an open area of about 65%. The jute, which is about 80% natural cellulose, should completely degrade in about two years. An additional advantage of these biodegradable products is that the decomposed jute improves the quality of the soil in a similar manner to a straw or peat mulch.
