When you use the same file over and over again, writing, rewriting, saving, and deleting parts of it on the same disk, the file becomes fragmented. That means that although you can’t tell, your operating system is storing all the data from that file as separate packages of information, distributed on different parts of the disk. Although fragmentation does not lose the information contained in the file, it does eventually slow down access to the file itself, because the OS must search the whole disk to create the sum of the file's parts. Defragmentation collects all those parts into one stream of data again, speeding up your system. 3, record 16, English, - defragmentation

Register forms are merely continuous strip forms which are contained inside a box made especially for use with the forms. The forms are accordion folded into "packs" and these packs are put in the register box with the first form to be written upon threaded up and over a metal plate which serves as a writing base or platform.(...) After the form is written upon, it is ejected from a slot in the top end of the box and the next form is automatically pulled into position for the next writing. The movement of the form up and out of the box may be done manually with a crank on the side of the register or with a finger lever on the top of the box or it may be done electrically. One of the principal features of the register is that after the form has been written upon, one copy is automatically guided into a container built into the bottom of the register. 1, record 17, English, - register

1, record 29, French, - politique%20interventionniste

"Snug bag" refers to the comfort and the warmth of a bag and thus could be used, in writing, to convey feelings. "Sack" could be used to refer to a "bed", but would be the appropriate synonym of "hammock" and "bunk", temporary substitute-type beds. "Bedroll", a "bedding often of blankets only that is rolled up for ready carrying",(WEBIN, 1981,,, 196), is not a synonym of "sleeping bag", even if a sleeping could be rolled for easy carrying. 3, record 31, English, - sleeping%20bag

5, record 31, French, - sac%20de%20couchage
