The Drainage Referee hears appeals on the legal aspects of a drainage work as well as appeals from a decision of the Tribunal. To appeal to the Referee a written notice must be served upon the Council of the initiating municipality. The clerk records the appeal and forwards it to the Clerk of the Court of the Referee. The legal procedures before the Referee are formal. It is advisable that an appellant seek competent legal counsel prior to submitting an appeal.
