The gyros are used to maintain the platform's inertial orientation by sensing rotations of the platform caused by vehicle-rotation-induced friction at the gimbal pivot points... One gyro-called the vertical gyro-is oriented so its input axes are aligned with the X and Y platform axes; its input axes provide IMU [Inertial Measurement Unit] platform roll and pitch stabilization. The second gyro is oriented so that one input axis lies along the platform's Z axis and the other lies in the X-Y plane. This gyro-the azimuth gyro-provides platform yaw stabilization with the Z input axis, while the second input axis is used as a platform rate detector for built-in test equipment. 3, record 1, English, - azimuth%20gyroscope

The sensors for angular velocity are vibrating gyroscopes (3 axes, to detect rotation and pitch/roll pendulations of the payload). An error signal is obtained differencing the signal from the azimuth gyroscope and a constant level settable from the telemetry, which controls the speed of rotation. Such error signal drives an analog PID [Proportional Integral Differential] circuit; the output of the PID is connected to the PWM [Pulse Width Modulation] driver supplying current to the pivot azimuth motors. 3, record 1, English, - azimuth%20gyroscope

polarization of a propagating wave is determined by the locus or path described by the electric field vector with respect to time 1, record 2, English, - polarization%20summary
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Polarization is a term that often arises in the literature and when considering radio frequency communication and RFID. If we ascribe an x, y, z co-ordinate system to a propagating wave as illustrated below, with the direction of propagation being in the z direction, the electric field vector E will be in the x, y plane. If E remains in the same orientation with respect to time, so that its locus describes a straight line, the wave is said to be linearly polarized. However, if the locus describes a circular motion with respect to time the wave is said to be circularly polarized. Where the locus describes an elliptical path, the wave is said to be elliptically polarized. 1, record 2, English, - polarization%20summary
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 2 OBS
Circular polarization is often used in communication systems since the orientation of the transmitting and receiving antenna is less important than it is with linearly polarized waves. The magnetic vector, H, always remains perpendicular to the E vector. Using an IEEE convention, a clockwise circular rotating wavefront approaching a receiver is defined as being left-hand circular (LHC) polarized. The power in the wavefront is expressed in the form of the Poynting vector, P: P = (E x H) = E x H sin ..., where ... is the phase angle between E and H. 1, record 2, English, - polarization%20summary
