Subject field(s)

CONT

IBIS [Imager on Board the Integral Satellite] is an instrument for detailed gamma ray imaging on board of the INTEGRAL satellite, the International Gamma-Ray Astrophysics Laboratory. This satellite is dedicated to observe with high spectroscopic and angular resolution celestial gamma ray sources.... Two main instruments(Spectrometer SPI and Imager IBIS) and two monitors([Optical Monitoring Camera(OMC) ] and X-Ray) will observe in parallel celestial objects of all classes.

CONT

CONT

The proposed mission would study these [X-ray] phenomena with four instruments : a large-area proportional counter, a phoswich detector, a four-component all-sky wide-field camera array and a gamma-burst detector.
