2, record 2, French, - r%C3%A9sonance%20%C3%A0%20c%26oelig%3Bur%20excit%C3%A9

Amyloidosis is not one clinical entity but a group of diverse structurally driven protein deposition diseases. They are similar in that protein deposition occurs extracellularly and these deposits stain eosinophilic using standard tissue histologic stains, bind Congo red dye, and emit an apple-green birefringence using polarized light microscopy; exhibit metachromasia with crystal violet; and have an array of 75-to 100-Å nonbranching fibrils by electron microscopy and a twisted b-pleated sheet antiparallel configuration by x-ray crystallography. They differ, however, in the biochemical nature of the proteinaceous deposits, the "etiology" of the associated diseases(neoplastic, inflammatory, degenerative, hereditary), the tropism of protein deposition, and the spectrum of disease manifestations. 1, record 5, English, - amyloidosis

The presence of an axial plasma jet in dynamic hohlraum experiments can affect our interpretation of the radiation temperature within the hohlraum. We expect to see a jet on PBFAZ, after the tungsten wire array implodes and strikes the inner annular foam target. If this jet is created by the radiation from the wires heating the outer edge of the foam, analytic calculations suggest it will have a negligible effect on the transmitted soft x-ray spectrum. How-ever, creation or modification of a plasma jet by accelerator prepulse, magnetohydrodynamic instabilities, or elec-trode effects could affect our analysis of the spectral data as seen through the end-on viewing aperture. 2, record 6, English, - axial%20plasma%20jet

Every element absorbs X rays in a distinctive manner. At X-ray wavelengths between 23 and 44 angstroms, oxygen-and therefore water-is much more transparent to radiation than is organic material. This fact opens up the possibility of discerning features through water, which makes up about three quarters of the mass of most cells. This part of the X-ray spectrum, called the water window, is quite useful for biological microscopy. 1, record 8, English, - water%20window
