Cone beam computed tomography is an innovative medical imaging technique that provides endodontists with three-dimensional views of the patient's teeth and surrounding structures.... During a CBCT scan, the machine rotates around the patient, capturing images using a cone-shaped X-ray beam. These images are then used to construct a 3-D [three-dimensional] representation of the patient's teeth, oral and maxillofacial region(mouth, jaw, and neck), and ears, nose, and throat. 6, record 1, English, - cone%20beam%20computed%20tomography

Medial tibial stress syndrome(MTSS) is one of the most common leg injuries in athletes and soldiers. The incidence of MTSS is reported as being between 4% and 35% in military personnel and athletes. The name given to this condition refers to pain on the posteromedial tibial border during exercise, with pain on palpation of the tibia over a length of at least 5 cm. Histological studies fail to provide evidence that MTSS is caused by periostitis as a result of traction. It is caused by bony resorption that outpaces bone formation of the tibial cortex. Evidence for this overloaded adaptation of the cortex is found in several studies describing MTSS findings on bone scan, magnetic resonance imaging(MRI), high-resolution computed tomography(CT) scan and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry. 2, record 3, English, - medial%20tibial%20stress%20syndrome

An(x, y) coordinate system is used to describe points in the layer under examination.... The contribution of each point toward the detected signal is denoted by the density function f(x, y). The term ’density’ is used in a suggestive sense. Record number: 5, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Unlike standard radiotherapy, in which treatment is delivered through one or a few separate beams, helical tomotherapy delivers treatment with a rotating, intensity-modulated fan beam. The patient is translated through the ring of the gantry while the beam is rotated around, so that the treatment beam forms a helical shape in a similar manner to that of computed tomography (CT) scans. The ring gantry provides a stable platform to perform tomographic verification of both setup and delivered dose. ... Because of the complete freedom of helical tomotherapy to deliver treatment from all angles around the patient and with intensity modulation and inverse treatment planning, it is possible to treat highly complex and irregular target volumes while giving a low radiation dose to surrounding normal structures. 3, record 5, English, - helical%20tomotherapy
