Color space-dyeing is a form of yarn dyeing which is again coming into use. It is an ancient craft to which different local names, such as tie-dyeing, have been applied. It refers to the coloring of yarns at intervals spaced along the yarn length.... this form of dyeing arose spontaneously and became a part of the textile craft tradition. In many places, tie-dyeing methods were the only ones used to create pattern in a fabric. The Japanese, for instance until fairly recently used tie-dyed yarns for the warp and weft of fabrics to produce a diversity of interesting and popular designs.... Developments in technique.... mechanized methods have replaced the ancient laborious ones of applying color space-dyeing. 1, record 2, English, - color%20space%2Ddyeing

3, record 2, French, - chinage%20par%20teinture

Warp and weft yarns lie to a certain extent in a wavy form in a fabric. There is, therefore, a difference in length between straightened yarns and the yarns in the wavy form in the fabric, both in warp and weft direction. In order to be able to produce the fabric required, information is needed for predicting the length, width and mass per unit area of the fabric. This difference in length between the yarn and the fabric is usually referred to as crimp, a parameter which is significant for the structure of the fabric and also for the pore shape and size. When the fabric is loaded there is often a change in the ratio of the crimp of the warp and weft system. This change is referred to as crimp interchange. Surface finish ... there are two very popular surface finishes in demand, Plain Weave and Black Matte. Plain Weave is the common "checkerboard" finish that easily demonstrates the presence of graphite in the product ... Plain Weave fabrics that we use on our laminates very often have "tracers", or colored yams that allow manufacturers to verify that fiber position is correct in larger structures. 3, record 16, English, - plain%20weave
Record number: 16, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Woven fabrics are mostly of simple construction such as the plain weave... in simple construction there is only one set of warp yarns(the lengthwise yarn) and one set of weft yarns(the cross-wise yarn) making up the fabric, and all are equally responsible for the strength and appearance of the fabric. Patterns and effects are obtained by using various coloured yarns, different size yarns... The simplest of weaves is the plain weave. Each weft yarn passes alternately over and under each wrap yarn. They are reversible, unless printed or finished, are of firm construction and wear well. 4, record 16, English, - plain%20weave
