What is a concurrent sentence? Concurrent sentences are sentences imposed for separate offences which run at the same time. A concurrent sentence begins from the date it is imposed. Where concurrent sentences are imposed at the same time, the total time served by the offender for all the offences is the same as the longest individual sentence imposed. For example, when a court hands down on the same day concurrent sentences of 3 and 5 years, the total time to be served is 5 years. Concurrent sentences include sentences with clear direction from the court that the sentence is to be served "concurrently" and when no direction is given by the court, i. e., sentence is "silent. " 2, record 1, English, - concurrent%20sentence
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Example of an original single sentence merged with a concurrent sentence : Suppose that an offender is subject to a 3 year sentence which began on March 1, 2012. Two years later(March 1, 2014) they receive a 3 year sentence to be served concurrently with the first. The two sentences are combined to form a total sentence of 5 years which begins on March 1, 2012(the start date of the first of the sentences to be served), and ends on February 28, 2017(the expiration date of the last of the sentences to be served). In this case, the sentences run at the same time. 2, record 1, English, - concurrent%20sentence

Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
3, record 1, French, - peine%20concurrente

StratSat provides a geo-stationary platform at 20 km altitude capable of remaining on-station for up to five years. Payloads include high speed Internet services, direct broadcast TV, mobile telecommunication, etc. The envelope operates as a super-pressure hull(i. e. with no ballonet pressure control system). The hull will be of laminated fabric construction with Tedlar/Teflon, helium/weather barrier developed from AT-10/04. Multiple catenary curtain system supporting a payload module enclosed completely by the envelope. [The] payload module... comprises a single structural module with an externally mounted payload/mission system. The payload module provides a home for all of the airship's primary systems except for the propulsion system. The systems are close packed within the highly insulated module ensuring efficient heat and energy management. The payload module is pendulum stabilised within the envelope. The solar array provides the sole source of renewable energy for the airship. The array is placed over the upper quarter of the hull and extends over approximately three-quarters of the length of the craft. The array can be realigned to the daily sun location/angle by the roll rotation of the whole airship. The energy collected by the solar array is stored for use during the night in the series of batteries. Located in the stored for use during the night in a series of batteries. Located in the payload module, the batteries run the propulsion system, airship services and provide power to the mission system for up to 14 hours(during winter). The airship is propelled and steered by means of a ’Contra-Rotating Coned Rotor’ mounted on a tailcone at the rear of the envelope, as a part of a compound propulsion system. The unit provides longitudinal thrust(to counter the prevailing stratospheric winds) and lateral force(for manoeuvering) to enable the airship to hold station within a 1 km cube. The airship will be equipped with a multi-channel Flight Control Sy 7, record 9, English, - StratSat%C2%AE

The oldest use is probably in cricket, where a hat trick is the dismissal by the bowler of 3 batsmen with 3 consecutive balls, for which the bowler apparently received a bonus of new hat. The term is widely used in hockey and soccer to indicate the scoring of 3 goals by one individual in a single game. Originally the hat trick was the scoring of 3 consecutive unanswered goals, but they need not be consecutive or unanswered to qualify as a hat trick today. The term has also been used of a jockey's riding a winner in 3 consecutive races or winners in an annual race for 3 consecutive years. A notable exception to the 3 successive performances which characterize a hat trick in other sports is its occasional use in baseball to mean that a player has hit for the cycle-a single, double, triple, and home run in one game. 2, record 10, English, - hat%20trick

Presidential elections which take place every four years are the main events among American elections. Elections at any other time are off-year or non-presidential election year elections. The most important of these coincide with non-presidential election year congressional elections. Members of the U. S. House of Representatives serve two year terms. They are on the ballot, in presidential election years along with one-third of U. S. Senators as well as candidates for various state and local offices(which differ frm state to state). Two years later all members of the House must run again along with another third of the U. S. Senate and a host of other state and local elected officials. Wharton is a powerful symbol of where our country went wrong in the 1980s. It was here at Wharton that Michael Milken got the idea to use junk bonds to leverage corporate buyouts -- a quick-buck scheme that was supposed to shake up failed management but too often forced corporations to lay off workers in formerly profitable plants, reduce R&D, and ultimately to go bankrupt or sell out again under the crushing burden of unserviceable debt. 2, record 19, English, - unserviceable%20debt

Total Third World debt is in the hundreds of billions, piled up under the auspices of the World Bank and sister agencies when they were attempting to impose their brand of global statism on any country desperate or corrupt enough to accept the money. The majority of these loans are unlikely to be repaid, especially those to the poorest nations. This creates a problem for the people who run the World Bank, a band of bureaucrats who for years claimed that their lending practices were sound and that their loan default rates were low. What the loans did, aside from provide tax-free employment opportunities for thousands of World Bank credit officers, was create scores of nations with large, unserviceable debt burdens. 3, record 19, English, - unserviceable%20debt
